hey guys,

how to meditate? all around the forum people says that meditation really helps in inducing an obe. i've searched around for these meditation techniques on this forum but i find none. i can't buy any books online as i'm only 16, and i'm living in singapore.

so far all i've gotten is the vibrations, and it's only twice. but now i can't even induce these vibrations. i really need help in inducing an obe!

mushin no shin, mind of no mind.

How to meditate:

1. get comfortable
2. find place where you can be alone
3. close eyes.

4. think nothing.

"think nothing" is the hardest, so to start try to have no thoughts for a few seconds, then when you think of a thought, word, or whatever, start over and try to clear it for a few more seconds.

when you get good at this you should be able to think nothing for at least 30 seconds. and eventually minutes, hours, etc.

by only listening to the ring in my head, is it counted as thinking of nothing, if all i'm doing is listening to that?

There are more ways to meditate than to simply think of nothing.  There are tons of meditation techniques.  When you sit down, and have your whole head to yourself, you can literally do with it whatever you like,  whatever is productive for any means you can imagine.  A lot of meditations are built around creative visualization or something like Robert Bruce's "tactile imaging," where you basically day-dream yourself into a lucid dream and go from there.  But that's only one other example.

Someone recently asked this same question on another forum I frequent, and they got a lot of good responses you might be interested in browsing over: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread456917/pg1';
What is the sound of no leaves cloving?

Zen meditation techniques are what lead me to my major leaps in progression.

I can recommend a book, but there are a lot of websites that explain Zen techniques fairly well.

lol, I try to think nothing but every time I hear a sound it creates an image in my mind. I can induce dreams, not lucid. I can day dream a situation or fantasy and fall asleep in it. Ive always ben able to do this. but never recall having a lucid. therefore unable to obe through a lucid dream...

Or buy a fan and keep it running for white noise. Images are fine to have. Thoughts like "What's that noise?" are bad.

If you can already day dream and fall asleep in it then you just need to stop the day dream before it goes too deep. Meaning after awhile you should find yourself falling further and further into the day dream until you lose it. You want to stop before you lose it, then quite the mind and thinking nothing.... at least that's what I do..... read read read.
