I tried AP a lot a few years ago and I'm real familiar with what the vibes are but since I've been trying to pick it back up these past couple months I just can't get back to them. I even projected once in a year of trying but gave it up so now I'm getting back to it.
In meditation I can get to the state where my body feels super heavy and I'm not really as aware of it. I can get there consistently but not past that point. I think from the lit I've read that the next part after that state where your body is falling asleep is the vibes. How do I get the vibes from this state?
Thanks for your help!
Well see... the term "body asleep" is actually vastly misunderstood.
At no point does your body ever have to be "asleep".

^ Right there... that's the very state you're looking for, or at the very least the beginning of it.
When you get to that point where you've lost most awareness of your physical body and its surroundings, begin to place your Intent towards what it is you want to do. Be it meet a guide? Go to a certain place? Talk to a certain person? Find out some unknown "something" about yourself?
You're there... you just need to place your Intent and keep doing what you're doing, which is focusing away from this physical reality frame. :)
just keep focusing and continue your meditations.
there are no stopping points or transitions to new techniques that need to be achieved. you have one course of action the whole time. meditate and continue to focus inward, making your consciousness drift ever closer to sleep. you almost want to let yourself fall asleep. to me, when someone says "i got to this point, what do i do now?", it means that they are trying too hard, they are allowing their mind to stay too active. if you have sufficiently focused your awareness, you should be in a very hazy state of mind where you're barely aware of anything, let alone what you should do next. so if you are able to clearly think to yourself, "ok, what do i do next", then you probably aren't deep enough yet.
So would this be a normal occurrence:
This morning when I tried it I was meditating and my mind would drift off and I would pull it back on focus. I mildly fell asleep, not all the way and only for maybe a minute, and when I became aware again I was in that heavy body state. Do you ever drift out of awareness and back in in a deeper trance? Actually that's reminiscent of every time I've felt the vibes sort of. Every time I ever felt the vibes I fell flat asleep meditating and would experience the vibes in the middle of the night....
So correct me if I'm wrong but for now I just need to continue through the heavy body phase maintaining a cleared mind, but maybe thinking a little of what I wanna do when I project?
Thanks for your help!
Next action-
Visualize --> aka see in your minds eye some image of you doin' something, preferably metaphysical coupled with intent.
If you give this a go in that state, you will notice, that you are completely not focused on your body. You will also notice how tough it is to maintain a visualization and remain consciously aware that you are visualizing while also not pay attention to your body while also focusing upward(on mind's eye on crow chakra, or whatever have you). excrement's tough. No doubt. You're jugglin like a clown, but without the funny makeup. But that's where practice comes into play. I find the issue is there is truly no negative language. The very act of "not" focusing on your body reminds you that you have a body that you could focus on but are choosing not too. This is why skilled visualization in a deep state used to be a respected mastery. Think about it.
Anyway, with luck, you'll enter a "kanishibari"(sp?) state and as long as you can keep your mind focused on the visualization and not all the crazy #@$@ that will be goin' on around you (noises, feelings, being fu#king paralyzed, etc) , the phasing process is pretty natural, you won't need to be a captain, it will happen on its own.

I DID IT! I just about gave up after like an hour of sitting there in the heavy body state, but I also didn't want to shed the trance. I decided just to tinker around with telekinesis, not like I thought I could but it was mildly entertaining to try it in that state. Nothing worked, so I thought, "one more try, let me see if I can strum my guitar across the room"... It worked! I was shocked so I tried it again and it worked again (probably not for real, but maybe astrally). Next thing I know everything went black and I hit the vibes. After a second of trying to get out I guess I did but everything was black for a minute and I was feeling around in the dark. When I came to I had an adventure on another planet for a couple minutes.
It still kinda felt like a dream, not like I was really out of my body, but I did have limited control. Then I felt myself loosing it and I woke up after a couple minutes of the experience.
Are real AP events more realistic than dreams, was that just lucid dreaming? How long can you stay out?
Congrats!
practice practice practice
i know it sux. it sux really bad sitting in that state. especially when you are used to it. it loses its "novelty" really fast. i never thought it could when i started, but it really does. Especially when your goal is a state of paralysis combined with the possibility of hyperventilation. I can't say its the most appealing activity in the world, until you get it. But as you just got a taste of it, you understand its power and the reason why you must practice. It is both a wonder and a shame that this is a path that one must take alone.
Let your experiences drive you.
