I have read about Ganzfeld effect and it looks like it could be a tool to make phasing easier. Have anybody tried something with it?

I was actually thinking about that JUST the other day.
I used to do that quite often when I was younger.
I noticed that as I stared at a single point, everything else around it would "melt away" (for lack of a better term).
I think this can easily be used to meditate with the eyes open.

The only issue was that moving the eyes, however slightly, broke the 'melting' effect.

Interesting, now I have a name for this effect :-D . To me, it is similar to another "phasing" or "projection" method I once heard of called "scrying". If I remember correctly, one stares at a candle until the background "melts away" and then it turns into a projection. This would seem excatly the same to me except you could focus on any point you want. Ive experienced this effect for years but never tryed projecting using it (I blink too often). Anyone else have any experience using scrying or the Ganzfeld effect to project?

I tried scrying, but I blink a lot and move the eyes. Ganzfeld effect I think is not the same, yo can blink and move the eyes cause the point is the sensory deprivation not focusing in something...you are hacking the brain.

I have tried this many times, but never did know what it was. When I blink, it doesnt go away.... anyone knows what this effect can be used for? How can you actually project using it?

Actually "scrying" (also if some people refer to the term losely) usually means using a simbol for claiorvainace or projecting in it. While you can do it with a candle staring fixedly (that actually puts in a trance if done rightly) the results are usually random. Skrying instead is done to retrieve informations on a particular astral plane. Usually Tattva symbols are used at beginning, after Tree of Life Sephiroth and lastly tarot cards. The procedure is very easy to adopt.

Anyway to return to "flame gazing" if you do it correctly the background will melt evermore till all becomes black. That's the time you can actually "project" trhough. As I said, however, what you will see its random and usually it has little practical use.
