Does anyone use binaural beats as an aid?

A friend introduced me to iDoser. I find their premise a little sketchy... something about opening the program and looking at a box that says "no drug file loaded" is kind of a turn off.

I do think the marijuana file gave me one heck of a wonderful waking nap... and I think I felt warm and fuzzy all over...

I tried the lucid dreaming file once and I recall having dreams that night... I am not usually able to even remember having a dream.

After a few tries, I feel like i enjoy the sound when I'm trying to relax.

I also sort of feel like I keep wanting to listen to it, when I'm at my computer...  Plus with an application like iDoser they want you to buy more files or "doses" so I sort of wonder...

So how do people feel about using binaural beats?
Do you feel that they help?
Does anyone worry that something subliminal could be embedded in the files?
If you feel comfortable with them what programs and files do you trust?
No matter what you do, it doesn't matter, if you don't mean it.

iDoser's alright... if you're worried about them trying to hijack your brain use BWgen in which you can design your own presets.

I think your own statement below might be the evidence you need. Not to impune them as I know nothing about them but what happens when you haven't been listening to the tapes for a while- do you get that 'urge for a fix' feeling?

I like the BWG and the Robert Bruce binaural CD that comes with the 'How to master astral projection in 90 days' book. Also the Monroe institute Gateway Hemi-sync program (Robert Monroe's) is good..

Hey, thanks y'all! ( XD I said "ya'll")

Thats two out of two votes for BWGen (I believe).

So I think I shall give that one a try.

The iDoser thing, I don't know if its got some sort of addictive message built into it or not... but I did find that I came to enjoy the white noise and... yeah... I felt like i wanted to hear it even when i wasn't trying to lay down... kind of strange to me. I don't think I'm the only one either.

I wonder if some people just enjoy the sound from other binaural beat programs...?

I'm trying to work out if there is any side effects of bineaural beats.

I have developed minor OCD symptom lately and am trying to work out if this is the cause.

EDIT: Please disregard the above. I've narrowed the culprit doiwn to too much coffee! You'd think I would know this as I gave up caffeinated coffee 6mths ago. But it seems even sufficient decaf can give you similar symptoms to excess caffeine

I used iDoser extensively for a period of a few months, I wouldnt say I was addicted... nor that at any point did I ever become addicted. I was experimenting with binaural beats with some very interesting results. No long term side effects however I did develop a short term side effect... constantly seeing red. Not cool but that subsided.. it has a name but i cant remember
