These techniques sound like they will work well because (like you said) they make you visualize while forgetting about your body. I'll try these tonight and tomorrow morning.

BTW your web site is down.

The stickman technique works really well.

I projected myself fairly quickly, but it wasnt in my room, rather I projected myself down the street and around the corner, where my stickman self was at hah.

Last night I tried the stickman technique before going to sleep. I never project before bed but I've found that doing things like that help for a morning projection.

In the morning I had a lucid dream where I was trying to project by walking though a wall, but it kept blocking me. I fully expected it to block me but for some reason I had the idea that trying anyway would help. A little later I was visualizing a mountain and the longer I looked at it the more detail it had. It was just like a video game with LOD graphics where the closer you get to something the more levels of information it will draw into the scene.

It was interesting because it drew in the information based on the gestalts, not the distance. For instance, it would draw in all the rock cracks, then all the big trees, then all the grass, etc.

I got the feeling then that by visualizing something and increasing the level of detail to the point of total realism it would result in a space into which your consciousness could naturually project.

In fact I started to get the feeling I get right before I project but for some reason I got a really creepy sensation and stopped the projection before I could make a conscious determined effort to ignore the feeling and keep going.

I was tired of laying in bed so I got up then. I'm going to try these things tonight and see how it goes.

holy reality

so....

do you have nay tips on how to simply visualize ?

For example, I visualize, say, a white truck, I "see" it but yet I don't see it, it's there, but it isn't... it has no form, it is as if it is a ghost in my mind... it is transparent.

Only when I LOSE COMPLETE AND TOTAL CONTROL OF MY MIND AND START FALLING ASLEEP does the imagination take solid form, as if seeing it with my eyes.

And that really is a paradox, because how can I see it if I'm barely conscious? I don't know... I just get vague memories of what I had seen.

So... I also find, for example, viewing the truck, unless I animate the truck, I can only "hold" it in my "minds eye" (transparent, fuzzy...) for say, 10 seconds.... after that, it changes, abnormalities appear, or my mind completely kills the image and eventually it puts something new in to replace it.

So do I have the "skills" to do these kinds of OBE visualizations ? About the only stuff I can do requires like, constant changing, as if I had ADD, like imagining some sort of lines spining around everywhere inside my head, and like, I don't know, just keeping something in motion.... I've found it doesn't really disconnect me from my body since it's so NOT VIVID and detached, I can't see it inside my eyes as if it were real.

Nor can I stay awake when it starts becoming real.... not even if I'm sitting up.

cube

Holy Reality,
I've found that any kind of intense visualization is good, when I visualize before bed I often wake up with a slightly activated 3rd eye for a few seconds that lets me see through my eyelids. All good visualizations seem to involve motion so just go with whatever comes natrually to you when you daydream.

The other day I laid down for a meditation and got vague imagery that I was looking up close at a tomato with a mosquito on it. When I relized I had an image I woke up a little and lost a lot of detail but I was able to stay sort of with the scene.

I wound up zooming back and it was a bunch of tomatos at a grocery store and I had impresssions of people walking by it. I watched it a while trying to relax into it and gain detail but didn't have much luck. At the end I had the impression that they all rolled off the display because something knocked them out of place from below.

Afterward I wrote down some notes on how to do it again:

1.) Do mind blank for several minutes. First start off by doing a solid mindblank for 15 heartbeats, forming a picture of each number in your mind with no other thoughts entering in

2.) relax stranglehold on your mind, allow hypnagogic imagery to form in your mind's eye but do not allow random audible thoughts to form. Basically you are letting your mind daydream into imagery

3.) once you have a decent image, gently hold it there. Do not think about it, simply direct your attention gently to the image. Allow more and more detail form in the image. Do not imagine more detail, but the detail will form naturally without you inventing things about it.

4.) Once the imagery is detailed enough, you will have created a volume of space in your thoughts that are prepared to allow you to project into it.

5.) As you become immersed in the imagery, you will become focused entirely in the area you've prepared for yourself and have totally forgotten about the physical world

At this point in my learnings I don't know if it's a good idea to invent the imagery. When people remote view, a lot of effort is spent cancelling out your imagination's effects and just sampling the etheric information impersonally. So at this time I'm just waiting for the imagery to show up mostly on its own.

It may be useful to try to start off the visualization by thinking about a mountain or whatever, but once it gets going don't let your imagination get in the way and don't invent anything about it that's not actually there.

BTW would you agree that according to http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11703 these are all ways of phasing rather than projecting?

I use a very different technique. Instead of imagining or focussing on the image, I "let" the images form but use my consentration to remind me I am awake. It is your Principle in reverse.

Lets say I am starting to drift into sleep and pictures and video bits start to appear. I count my  heart beat or make a N.E.W. exercise and imagine I open my eyes and look at my room. I keep my eyes closed ofcourse. It sort of jolts my consiense in to awake state.

I got the idea by hearing about Edison who would take catnaps with his keys in his hand when he would drop them he would be reminded he was falling asleep and would become more consious. Sometimes I lie on my bed and hold my arm straight up in a vertical line from thge albow on the bed. As I fall asleep my arm relaxes and I get jolted into consiousness. After doing that maybe 10 times I find Phasing a snap.

Hmm, Salvador Dali did the same thing with the key before he would start on a painting. Your vertical arm idea sounds very useful, I'll give that a shot as well.

The "walk method" does work very well - at least in the mornings. Actually, it is one of my favorite technique to re-enter into regular dreams by years.

I call it the "groping method to reenter dreams", because of the special emphasis I've used it with. First I recap the last dream (if any) then refocus it by choosing a wall from it. In the absence of strong dream memories I remember the general feeling of the dream or simply choose a wall in my bedroom. Then I begin to walk beside it, first slowly then more and more prolific. I've found that the ever changing postion of you and the continous surface contact you keep can substitue the visuals until you find yourself hazy whetever is it an imagination or already a dream. By the relevation that the answer depend on you, a nasty feeling emerge which must be overcome in order to succesfully complet the transfer.

Omega, can you elaborate how come into view that stick man thing? Perhaps we can enhance your method by sharing experiences about it.

holy reality

"After doing that maybe 10 times I find Phasing a snap.

Regards Mustardseed"

See now this isn't possible for me (and i've been doing it for well over half a year) what happens is that I start falling asleep, I lose focus, people talking or images get strong (providing I get deep enough) and I am instantly jerked awake MYOCLONIC JERK and for a few moments I cannot do anything, there are no images, I cannot imagine images, becuase of the adrenaline, it takes over certain mind functions, all I can do is be clearheaded, then if I try to see imagery again I just fall asleep again.

It doesn't matter how much it happens, (more than 12 some times) I JUST CANNOT ENTER IT.

No matter what I do, not talking, not getting up for a few moments, not erratically breathing... not mantras.... music is a bit of a help but then the music keeps waking me up.

nothing works...

today I was trying to not ever fall into hypnagogia but instead just kind of clear my head and i imagined some guy running down this huge tower, and i started to get very small vibrations but then couldn't get back to that again.

So ... who knows.

What I do know is I'm getting rightly ticked off about all of this.

there is no way for me to consciously enter hypnagogic images as soon as they come i am unconscious.

Mustardseed

Hi Holy
Listen , lets do a experiment. I am pretty sure that I can help you. First of all get rid of the "I cant do it"[;)] Attitude. Dosn't help. Replace it with "how can I do it"

take it in stages and be patient.

1,
Every time you are watching TV or playing Computer games make it a point to check your watch every 5 minutes. Consistently. During movies or whatever. Use a timer. This is pre requisite.

2.When you are in your bed and drifting make it a point to "frame " all your hypnogic images. Simply imagine a frame around them as if you are watching a TV. This takes a while. DO NOT try to enter them but practice looking around in the frame, follow the outline or action as an observer. At a point you will fint the image starting to move towards you. It starts very very slowly and sort of wooooesh you are asleep and in the dream. TRY YOUR BEST TO MOVE BACK when this happens. Or focus on a different part. Sometimes there are swirls of color around the edges of the swirls , you can focus on those as well. Do this maybe 10 times, (falling asleep times. YOu can even use a alarm to wake you up every 20 min or so.

3. As you get better at focussing on the picture the image and in maintaining full waking consience, and also moving away from the image when it gets near you. You will find the edges become very well defined. This is the same imaging RB uses for his Core image work. I believe he is using his hands to hold the image at "arms lenght" so to speak, so as to not disappear into it. Anyway. After getting better at this stage 3 is entering it without loss of consience. This you can do by imagining it to be a window you are climbing into. Imagine your hands taking hold of trhe frame and swinging a leg over etc. When you get better you can actually "jump" through the window and will appear in your "targeted destination"

It takes a bit and I have found it to be helpfull to experiment with the jumping in and out instead of staying there. It is tricky and requires willpower to terminate a OBE but is soooo worth it as it enhances your ability to reenter. I have often done this up to 20 times in aprox 3 hours. It is only a skill thats all. Once you get it you will realise it is not a big deal. Like driving a stick shift. As you start you think it is impossible and very difficult but in time it becomes second nature. I know you can do it.

I sort of get a feeling that for you maybe terminating a good OBE is the biggest hurdle, thats just a feeling , but if that is true, ask yourself wether you would rather have 6 in 6 months, or train with none for 2 months and then have the ability to have 50 in the remaining 4 months.?

There are still conditions that have to be right.

Hope it helps.

Yours Mustardseed

Mustardseed I like the idea of framing the images like you suggest, I tried it a for a few minutes and I was surprised how easil it was to get the frame to form. That seems like a good way to gently direct your attention to something without using too much effort so that you don't start to wake up.

Did you read about that in RB's Psychic Defense book?

Hello Omega!

Can you elaborate your stick man approach?
I don't get the reason of it.
Should I become a puppet master or something?

Thanks man

Something else I've found, when you get an image don't look at it! This is very hard for me to do because I have a strong condition-response to make my physical eyes look at something as soon as I notice it.

What happens as soon as I move my physical eyes is my awareness goes right back to the physical world and I lose it. Framing the image like Mustardseed suggests is a very good way to acknowledge the image but not disturb it.

VISUALIZATION

Not everyone visualized the same, for each individual it is different.  When asking someone to visualize, you may find some that say they are unable to or that they just don't know how.  This is not surprising but very common with most people.

However, I have developed a method that I've been successful with using to teach most people to visualize.  The truth is that everyone can and do visualize, but do not understand what visualization is nor that they have been doing it all of their lives.  So, instead of explaining this to people who would not believe you any way, I have found a way to convince them that visualization can be taught.

Begin by asking him to think of an apple.  Tell him that maybe it is so red and ripe that  the skin may even have little white specks in it.  Ask him to let you know when he sees this in his mind.  Once he affirms that he sees in his mind the apple, then ask him to change the apple to an orange.  Maybe the skin of this orange is so that it even has the little dimples of the skin.  When this has been accomplished then go on to a lemon, a bright yellow lemon.

Then the leaves of a tree, the leaves are a deep green.  The afternoon sky, so blue and clear.  Next the dark indigo blue of a night sky.  He may even notice the twinkling of stars.  Then the early morning sky when just before the sun breaks on the horizon in the east where you notice the color violet in the morning sky.  Finally, pure white puffy clouds, high in that beautiful sky.

To visualize is to see within the mind and not by use of the eyes.  An image in the mind is not usually as clear or solid as the image we see with the eyes.  Some people do not relate to colors but might relate other things like objects or memories of places and even people they have seen.

Remember to go slow giving him enough time to focus his thoughts on what you are asking him to visualize.  Once it is clear to him move on to another target.  Praise him as he progresses to create a form of positive reinforcement.  When he responds favorably to this technique, then bring to his attention; what he has done is called visualization.

I hope this helps. If you would like to try a different technique which is Hypnosis and learn it correctly and to go back into that same deep state in seconds you can learn in my class room on paltalk.

It's a chat room with audio and typing. I use the audio to do hypnosis sessions in the room so people can experience a deeper state then before.

If your interested in this Free Hypnosis sessions just drop in.  If you don't have paltalk its http://www.paltalk.com Once you have it you can leave a message here on Astral Pulse so we can set up a time in the room. The more the better. Hear from you soon.

STICK METHOD – This is one of my new methods that I have come up with I have had good results with this method. I did some thinking and I came up with this stick figure that would replace the physical body. For this method to work you can take out the image of your physical body and imagine a stick figure instead. Example you can imagine the stick figure walking moving his arms or doing anything that a physical person could do so it's very easy to replace this with your physical imagined person.

WALK METHOD-Using Stick Method – This method you imagine a stick figure of yourself imagine him or her walking around you house try to move your consinious to the stick figure so you can see what he see's and touch what he touches. After I imagine the stick man walking around the house I make him walk outside and walk around the street try to remember all of the houses and landmarks and see them from his viewpoint like you were really walking down the street. Just keep on walking and experiencing your surroundings and have fun and the vibrations will come. I think this method works better because you don't focus on your physical body you forget about it but the stick man can still do everything that you physical body can do so there is no hindrance in making the change.

Eye Rover
For this method you have to forget about your physical body try to imagine two big eyes looking all around your room. Try to forget about your physical body and move your consinious into the two big eyes and see with those eyes. Start by looking around your room then go outside just look at all the houses the noises you would think you hear the cars that are usually parked there. Just keep on going father and farther away from you physical body with these two big eyes go as far away as you can or until you cant remember what the surrounding environment looks like if you forget just start working your way back to your house. The key to this method is to see thru the two big eyes look around with them its hard to get used to but with practice you wont switch between viewpoints from your physical eyes to you imaginary eyes you can stay in one viewpoint and the longer you forget about your body the faster you will start to shift between bodies.
