Title: Sci-fi story I wanted to share!
Post by: Simo on February 23, 2012, 14:37:26
Hya Friends!I want to share a story I once I read in a Bulgarian youth magazine from the early 90's.SO a bunch of ordinary people ride in the subway at night, and at some point they notice that the train is riding for hour without making stops, and as they begin to panic the train finally reaches it's destination-hell!There the satan takes them on a tour and shows them different types of punishment for different sins(like a hooker hanging naked on her hair).Soon after the satan tells them that it's their turn for eternal suffering, and in all te panic one young man shouts "I DONT BELIEVE IN THIS!"and the hell place begins to fall apart, and after he shouts it again they are back on the train, which stops in its final stop somewhere in new York.Shaken they all look at the wonderful day that is outside.Suddenly the young man shouts "I DONT BELIEVE IN THIS!!"and the windows began to fall from a skyscraper! But before he could say it again one of the old guys from the train pushes him in front of a car and he dies in the accident! Then he said to another old man from the train "I had to do it!He just knew too much!" Maybe its a good story to think on  :-)

Yeah, that's pretty good. It reminds me a little bit of Clive Barker's "The Midnight Meat" train, only maybe even a bit freakier. Maybe that's where Clive Barker got the idea from.

sounds like philip k. willy's The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. it is pretty bizarre -also one of my favorites. if you register you can download it here: http://freemediaforyou.net/checkout.html?wm=150&sub=7&filename=The%20Three%20Stigmata%20of%20Palmer%20Eldritch

PKD wrote about consciousness and the odd nature of realty back when most people couldn't really understand it. many films were inspired by his stories.

here's a neat little short story by him that you can d/l without registering:
