This is just complete bovine excrement now.
I've been trying for a good few years now, more than 2, more than 3. Its ridiculous. This is pointless and a waste of my time now i'm done.

Its been on and off of me quitting Astral Projection due to frustration of failed attempts.
I recently started again a few weeks ago, and I am done now, still no freaking success. This is crap.

How can someone be at this for years and not have 1 fking successful attempt? What kind of excrement is this?
I seriously had no doubt in my mind about this, but I've had enough now.

I'd usually end up laying in my bed or outside in the couch for hours until my body just gets ticked off and then I get ticked off and quit.
I started trying to Indirect method, by waking up in the morning and trying it.
I tried it and keep falling asleep, then I wake up and try again, until I don't fall asleep, then once I stop falling asleep I end up trying methods until my body just gets so mad and quits.

Relaxation is one thing, but I just hit a point where I get so relaxed I get ticked the fk off and quit, because i'm sitting there for hours.


I'd try so hard and so much that I'd find myself getting out of bed in the afternoon like 5PM or so.
Seriously i don't understand how I can try for years and have no fking results, NOT 1 SUCCESSFUL SEPARATION.


You can clearly see why I am so ticked off. Screw this crap, its complete bovine excrement and pointless to me now.
I had so many plans for when I finally separated but not once did I separate in my life consciously.

Don't mean to rub salt in your ticked of wound but you maybe just aint doing it right.

At the least maybe 2 or 3 times for a lot of methods.

Try this method. It takes very little energy to do it. And you can have a projection very quickly. My average OBE practice session is 5 seconds to 5 minutes now. Screw those techniques that require you to practice for hours upon hours per week.

Practice this technique every time you fall asleep which includes at the beginning of the night and all times during the night if you are the type that wakes up multiple times. Keep practicing, and keep a log of what step you can make it to each time you practice. The goal is to make it to step 6 or 7. I prefer to make it to step 7.

1) Be very tired (able to fall asleep within a minute)
2) Raise all your awareness to the top of the head region
3) Focus on a physical anchor (portable fan sound)
4) The next goal is to not be able to hear your physical anchor anymore, but you still have awareness at the top of the head.
5) Hold this state for as long as possible while your body quickly falls asleep
6) If you can't eliminate visualizations from happening in this state, then you will eventually find yourself in a lucid dream.
7) If you can eliminate visualizations from happening in this state, then you will eventually find yourself in the real time zone (in your bedroom).

Maybe this is the fault. Don't set any goals for when you separate. Your main goal and intention should be to separate and have a fully conscious/aware OBE before setting any other goals for OBE, setting these other goals only cause more frustration once you don't achieve the main goal. I hope you don't give up, giving up is the worst thing you could do. If you do try to continue try affirmations, if you haven't already. I'm not saying you shouldn't have any goals for when you get out but it would help a lot if you just focused on achieving the separation and staying aware. I've set many goals for when I separate and never achieved them but I have achieved separation numerous times.

I got this technique from 'The Vigil Method', a post on this forum, but just added my own twist (I encourage you to do the same) It worked for me the first time and if I don't use it everyday it works every time. Attempt to induce an OBE, lay in the position most comfortable. It can even be the position you sleep in (I do this and it's a lot easier). Start saying the affirmation "I'm going to wake up and have an out of body experience" to yourself and focus on unconditional love from the heart chakra and the reason behind your intent for wanting to have an OBE (all at the same time your saying this affirmation, it sounds harder then it is) Do this for however long feels comfortable for you. After that focus on energy rising through your head, feet, and hands into your heart chakra. Believe this is filling your body with pure energy, I like to think of this energy as a rainbow (the colors of the chakras) but you can think of it as any color you'd like. Do this for as long as you feel is needed and your comfortable with. After that all you need to do is just focus and let your body begin to fall asleep. Hopefully you'll wake up and have an OBE, or some sort of experience. The main thing is to do it your way, the way that feels most comfortable with you. Hope this helps.

When I first started I had no desire to actually have an OBE or projection I was just fascinated with reading, and learning more about like watching a really cool movie, I read all Monroe's books, Bruce Moen's website and books so I kept flooding my mind with this information but throughout all this time I never onced attempted to have an OBE because of fear so I had no expectations and after about four or five months of constant reading and reading and watching youtube videos I had my first projection.

I don't know if you started trying to project right away after knowing about OBE's or if you have read about it before as in getting in the right minset but in my opinion flood your mind with knowledge on the subject, make movies in your mind about it without actually asking to be there, in my experience I indirectly asked to have a projection by requiring as much as knowledge possible.

First, realize that you've projected more times than you even know.
If you've ever had a lucid dream, you've projected.  A normal dream is simply a projection which you're unaware of.
Secondly, it took me over 10 years of off and on practice before I made any progress.

What you're probably trying to do is a conscious exit projection... projecting directly from an awake state?  Is this correct?
If this is correct... then you're literally trying to run before you've learned to crawl.

You mention you're looking for a separation... are you ignoring other, possibly successful ventures into the non-physical, which WEREN'T classic separation OBEs?

Start small... work on #1 first. Pick whatever you want.  All these points that everyone made here are valid. But we should just say "good luck in your future endeavors", instead of trying to change his mind. We come to this of "free will". I meet a number of people that have tried this and didn't like it or had problems with it and even more that have no interest in hearing about it. This is a personal Journey, not a contest.
Thank you for being honest. I would much rather hear what you said than have to be trying to help someone who's heart really isn't in this anymore.

You were looking for words of encouragement; otherwise you wouldn't have made that post. That tells me that you don't really want to quit, but are trying to understand the reasons behind your unsuccessful attempts, and reassurance that this is actually real and with the right approach, you will be able to achieve your desired goal.

So, I would suggest before you make your final decision, to read carefully every response, put every suggested technique from member that use it successfully on the "to do list", and MOST IMPORTANT – stick to one technique at a time for at least three weeks and practice it every day. This is one of the keys to success. DO NOT try things and move to the next method if failed after few days. I cant stress how important it is to feed your consciousness with a single focused stream of thoughts for a certain period of time. Scattered attempts will bring you no success, at least as a beginner.  

Now, below you will find my method, through which I achieved my first and many more after that OBEs. Just like you for a long time I was attempting to OBE by laying for hrs and relaxing, meditating, etc. Well, later when I read William Buhlman's first book, I realized that this attempt was highly unsuccessful and rarely brings results, not even lucid dreams. I was doing the wrong technique, at a wrong time of the day. I even at one point came to a conclusion that this was too good to be true, I believed it was possible, but I thought that it could be achieved by a small number of individuals with special abilities. Well, I was wrong and I believe that anyone can achieve conscious OBE, however the techniques are not your everyday daydreaming, or relaxing at home. Otherwise humanity would have discovered this long ago. It requires very specific energy works so to speak and techniques that raise your internal frequency, thus allowing you to tune into the astral worlds with your consciousness vs the dream creations of your subconsciousness ( which as we all know take place in the astral as well).

My method consists of combination of visualization and motion. It is very pleasant to practice and it does not take much time of your day, But you must be patient and stick to this technique for at least three weeks before you see results. You must not get discouraged. This time is required for your internal awareness to be raised with this particular stream of thoughts. You must follow closely the instructions. Your only choice is to create the environment you will be visualizing.
Time of the day to perform: right before falling asleep (you must be mentally in that "world" while falling asleep. Try to hold your conscious thoughts awake as long as you can).
Length of time for each session: around 20 min
Note: If you are to take a nap during the day, by all means do this technique for about 5 min before falling asleep. If you wake up briefly during the night, go ahead and try to keep your thoughts awake for 5 min and do the technique before passing out again.
The scene I use is a beautiful beach on a tropical island. First I imagine myself walking on the beach. Feeling the sand beneath my feet, digging up sea shells and running my fingers over their surface. Listening to the waves, smelling the air, etc. Then I may choose to run really fast and even lift up in the air and fly up and down, really feel that internal motion. I may also lay in a hammock or a boat and sway back and forth.
Fall asleep with the thought that you are there.

I am really curious to receive reports from anyone who tries this technique, follows my directions exactly and do it every night for three weeks. I would be surprised if you don't experience the slightest symptoms of an approaching OBE.


P.S Once you achieve your first OBE, just keep practicing here and there and you won't have to wait another three weeks until another one happens. Your internal energy will be kept in tune with the higher frequency and it will be easier :wink:

I tried for over 10 years, myself. Off and on of course. It's a genetic thing - the people who can AP using the usual methods are simply born with better bio-etheric systems that are suited for this. They are not self-made as they would like to think, but they'll repeatedly tell you to use methods that work only for them.

I've been getting involved with machinery that could enable anyone to astral project.  The 'naturals' tend to get a little mad about this.

I agree, I have purchased some "machinery" as well. But not to help myself, I did it to help friends and anyone around my area that wants to experience the NPR. I admire you for trying for a long time.  You are very determined and put a lot of effort into it.  It is a shame to give it up.  You deserve to astral project.  Most people would have quit but you did not.  I could be wrong but I think you really want to astral project otherwise you would not write this message.  You are hoping that someone will be able to persuade you to change your mind and to help you astral project.  I am going to try to help you.  As someone said there is something you are doing wrong.  It is not the technique that is wrong.  You sound angry and frustrated.  I would suggest to forget about astral projection for at least a few months.  You need a break from it.  Then try again when you are feeling a lot better.  While you are having a break I would suggest to say to yourself every day that you can astral project.  Everyone else can so can I.  I believe everyone can astral project if they really want to.  Of course, they have to practice.  You need to get it into your mind that you can astral project.  If you think astral projection is hard or you cannot do it then it can become a lot harder to do.  I would practice meditation at least 10 minutes twice a day or 20 minutes a day.  Meditation is very good as it calms the mind.  I would advise to choose only one astral projection technique.  Choose something that you will enjoy doing.  When the mind and body is ready to astral project ANY TECHNIQUE WILL WORK, regardless of what the books tell you.  To be able to astral project your mind has to be calm and relaxed.  If the mind is agitated, frustrated or bored etc, astral projection usually does not happen.  When you do an astral projection technique, try to think you are really there doing that activity.  I only learnt that recently.  You do not have to see or feel anything.  It is not important.  The only requirement is that you really think you are there or doing an activity.   The other day I imagined I was jumping on a trampoline.  I believed that I was jumping and to my surprise I was spiritually jumping.  It only lasted for a short while because I was amazed.  I did not expect it to happen.   If I do not think it will work, it usually does not work.  I have to believe I am doing it.  When you start your astral projection practice try not to get discouraged if astral projection does not happen.  Last night I made an effort but I did not astral project.  It probably is not a good idea to try to astral project for hours.  It might be better to try for a while, then if it does not happen, have a break and try again later.  You may have more success that way.  I hope this will help you.

Three suggestions, all related to tools (though not machinery). I know that some of these are not popular here but they might be of (indirect) help for s.o. to get the first time when doing some techniques. Consider them to be 'crutches'.

So here I go:

1. Try to ask your guide(s) to help you with this. They are out there and willing to help. This is NOT a religious thing or similar. Everyone has guides. They might as well be parts of one's own (Higher) Self or Subconscious. That does not matter. Phenomenically, they are guides.

2. Try crystals. Wear them at night around your neck or put them under your pillow. There are certain gemstones that are said to help in AP, among them: Moldavite, Astrophyllite, Apophyllite. They are not expensive. It's worth a try.

3. Get up after 3-4 hours of sleep and take in natural Spider Lily Galantamine extract together with Choline (Lecithin) and B-Vitamins. It helps to get lucid at a certain point after falling asleep again. This is almost guaranteed by multitudes of users!
Beware: Overdoses are not recommended, once per week should be enough. Use it as a kickstarter to get your first lucid experience, but then try to go without substances or supplements in later attempts.

Another hint regarding dietary measures:

Try to avoid too much industrial sugar (no sweets) and also the ingestion of too much meat (vegetarian diet might be best, at least try to avoid heavy meat such as pork or beef, most of all, do not eat meat a few hours before projection attempts). Also do not use alcohol or any other drug before attempts at projecting.

i don't know what this comment will be worth, but the first time i projected, i had given up. like, i wasn't trying to meditate or ANYTHING at the time. i was taking a nap! however, i had been trying for a long time before that. i didn't read through all the posts, and i don't know what you HAVE achieved, but i had gotten some places with this before i was successful. i can remember during attempts feeling like i was rotating around my body by my head and other partial separations. sometimes i could only move my hands. so, don't discount the small progress. when it finally did happen, it was like i was just ready for it. and here is the other thing, that was like 10 yrs ago. even though i was able to project sometimes i still had major problems. i never got further than the room until 2 days ago! mostly because i had GIVEN UP :wink: hope it happens for you!

As Lionheart and Personalreality pointed out... sometimes these things come to us, sometimes they don't.  As I said above, perhaps it's just not your time to learn this.  Perhaps you need to focus more upon your physical life and grow a bit more on the spiritual side by interacting positively with your fellow man.
