So if a Hitler, for example, progresses fast and does not spend much time in the lower energy realms, is that just the way it is and the way it should be? Or is it possible that we have all spent lives being both the good and bad?

I had a very particular jarring NPR experience just the other night and now I think I'm ready to compare it to some others. Now I am not looking for an excuse to go physco or anything but I know I'm probably letting my old beliefs hold me back from growing. For example just two days ago I would have said spiritually growing but now I'm not sure that is even close to what I would say now.
This is where you seem to be confused. There is no Lower or Higher Astral. There is just what you make it to be.

What would you say if I said that this is Hell? We live with REAL evil here. At any moment a complete stranger could take your life.

We are given a physical vessel with physical limitations, as in breathing, strength, etc. and put on a planet with limitations due to physics, as in gravity, oxygen etc..

Then we are given rules which are governed by man. We are told what to do, what to eat, what to watch , what to wear and how to live in general. We have jobs that occupy our daytimes or nights. We have constant interruptions and distractions in our lives. We make the best of it however we can.

...and yet we can still awaken to what's really important and what our true purpose is, which is to experience and make sense out of all of this ourselves. To grow, to learn, to expand our Consciousness.

You experience in the NPR what you needed to experience. Whether it was good, bad or ugly, there is a lesson to learn there.

This is a great thread. I have not read a lot of the suggested works because I do want my interpretations influenced by others yet. I know this leads to a lot of questions that have been answered countless times and could even threaten Gandhi's patience so I want to thank everyone here for that.

With that said, I am quickly losing most of my preconceived religious beliefs. This is a little troubling but I'm fine with it because it's happening through my own experiences. In fact the opposite is more disturbing when I think of how much misery is in the name of whatever....

I do not want to influence anyone else either as these types of revelations are life changing, but I want to pose a question here that is still troubling me.

If we are all here to learn and grow and there is no single higher being that is waiting to judge us as there is no true good or evil, only our individual interpretations of such, what does that say about Hitler? I know a lot of people kept their sanity by believing he was being punished in unimaginable ways. And he may well be, but if this punishment is all subjective, does he actually deserve to experience no discomfort at all in the next reality if he instantly understands this and is therefore able to progress "higher" quickly?

HI, first off congratulations, on the fact that old ides are falling away and being replaced by your own revelations. For me the the saying we can live without religion but not god sits very comfortably with me. Ironically we often find as we progress spiritually, we tend to the see and understand much of the spirituality within religious teachings that have been long misinterpreted along the line by so many. Spiritual teachings are often only really understood after we have gained the knowledge ourselves, they then provide a confirmation of your evolving understanding as apposed to teaching you. The teachings can only point the way, you have to discover it first.
As for hitler you pose an interesting question and I believe Lionheart makes a valid point. Im sure some people come into this world as a catalyst for change. With out suffering we would not seek to evolve, so suffering it self is essential at some level and ultimately serves a purpose in the scheme of things.

One idea on the existence of good and evil that I like is that which is suggested by the great hindu sages who had attaind the christ consciousness. Since prior to the world of form there was just pure divine consciousness and space. God had to create form out of the non physical. The only way that could work was through creating a duality (the holy ghost, the christ consciousness, spirit) For form to manifest there has to be a positive and a negative, the intelligence and power of growth and the decay, the good and bad, the happiness and sadness. Happiness and sadness both exist on the same frequency of emotion and one can very quickly turn into another. That is why the Buddhist try to take the middle road and avoid extremes of anything, but seek the bliss of enlightenment and freedom from the trap of the the ego and form...there for escaping the dream of this world we fall into.
I believe this a fantastic place to learn and grow since it is here that we experience limitation, that causes us to dig deep spiritually in order to over come our challenges and in doing so build the quality of our mind and light that will create our surroundings and our experience of the next world  :-) in other words we have personal responsibility and freedom of will. I believe Jesus was a wonderful enlightened saint who came to lead as an example. Probably the best psychic and medium in the past 2000 years. But his teachings will (just like many religions) have been lost in time and translations and most likely misunderstood in the first place. The first version of the bible was not documented until 70 years after Jesus left this life. Either way I cant see how one person/deity can absolve us of our sins. Only we can do that. We craet our own heave here and in the life after. My two cents for the day, LOL,  Regards  :-)
