Sounds getting very loud

I am new to APing, been trying for about a month, with no success, but when i am trying to AP every once in a while all the noise i hear will get very very loud for about 2 seconds then it will go back to normal, I always think that if i could just hold onto that very loud noise for just a little bit longer it will help me get to the point where i can AP, does this happen to anyone else?

I just know that I used to hear loud rushing sounds while I was holding onto sleep paralysis (which is a good state to enter AP from), that was most likely caused by either my computer fan whirling around or from the blood rushing near my eardrums. You can hold onto it for a while, I've found that it make SP last longer, so it may be useful for APing.

I actually had my first AP experience just a couple of hours ago, i had just woke up from a dream, one that i quite enjoyed even though it was of me being in jail, and i was going back to sleep and my body started violently shaking, i didn't know what to think at first, but i just let it ride and after shaking for about 20 seconds i realized that i was about to AP, so i did the rope technique and got the top half of my body out, then i couldnt figure out how to move my left arm out of my body so i came back in.

Sounds are actually one of the early manifistations of the phasing/obe state. They will often become so loud and various (even voices and music) that you will be convinced that there is mayhem going on in your house!

The trick is, to let this wash over you and keep calm. Things will settle down.

Thanks for the help, Gandolf.

Hey all...I have a few questions about sounds...

I have been projecting for over 10 years now, but in the beginning all of my experiences seemed to be totally spontaneous.  The first 'sounds' I heard were 'zapping' sounds in a short pulse-like timing.  Then the zapping pulses became much longer and I would be 'out' before I knew what had happened...

In the years since then, I have realized that I have a continuous 'high-pitched' sound that is ever-present (even as I sit here and type this I can hear it, although it is not very loud at all) and when I focus in on this sound when I am totally relaxed, and if all else goes well, then I can usually project.

My questions:

I have been told that the zapping sound is astral noise, but is there another more explicit explanation?

What is the ongoing high-pitched sound that is apparently just a intricate part of my make-up?

Can this high-pitched sound be sort of the same thing as what is on those tapes you all speak of?

I have never listened to any tapes, or followed any technique.  These experiences have just been a very mysterious aspect of my life...

I know I am venturing out of my usual habitat on the AP, but I think it is time that I start asking some questions about my experiences instead of just taking them for granted.  Any help would be appreciated (but please know also that there are a lot more questions where these came from !!!   )

Thanks!

Hi Beth! Unusual to see you out here!

This is hard to say. It could be astral noise: During the process of the phasing/obe attempt, you will come across audio/visual effects, generated by your imagination, which is after all the bridge between the physical and the astral. Sounds can range from popping sounds, whistling, bangs, crashes, voices, laughter and so on, some of which you will be convinced is coming from your own house or outside! The thing to do is keep calm and carry on, things tend to settle down.

On the otherhand, if you hear it all the time, it may also be a biological condition and you might want to get your ears checked out: there is a condition called titinous (don't know if that's the right spelling) which manifests itself as a constant wringing, whistling sound.

Hey guys!

Yes, I know about tinnitus, and while the symptoms may even be identical, I have been using the tone as a tool for OBE and AP for years now and always assumed it was related in some way.  As a note: I am developing a bit of hearing loss these days, but I am also getting pretty old as well!

Like I said, I am finally thinking more about the logistics of my experiences instead of just taking them all for granted!  I am also trying to reconcile the differing theories of an 'objective astral realm' with that of a 'subjective astral realm'.

Birm's Triangle Method is a possibility for the objective astral category: It could be the case that the high-pitched sound is actually my astral ears, which are always 'hearing' in the background, and when I focus in on this tone, er...focus in with 'my astral ears'...the heavy vibrations and other electrical sounds come that immediately precede a projection.

I have just wondered in the past whether this 'tone' could be a physiological condition that could be studied in connection with AP.  As for the buzzing and vibrations, I have always intuitively felt that these noises are also coming from within me, from my own physiological makeup, and not from the actual astral realm.

I am not a scientist by any stretch of the imagination, but can some of these noises be likened to a 'sonic boom' when the sound barrier is breached? Like the breach of an electomagnetic barrier of some kind? Or perhaps even an electrical spike within the synaptic system?

Thanks for the imput!
