Sagar

I haven't projected yet but I've been meditating, doing energy work, and body loosening for about a year now.  Despite this, I have had many great experiences with my spirit guide.  One night, while energy work was still new to me, (and I was even having trouble raising energy past my toes) I called out to any higher energy that would listen and asked for help.  Almost instantly energy came through my feet and all the way into my upper legs for the first time and I heard a pounding voice in my head saying "Sagar, Sagar, Sagar"  (Hence the name)  At first I thought it was just a friendly entity passing by willing to help.  I even googled what Sagar meant and found that it was not only a river in India but the hindu word for an amazing friend willing to help.  I only know English so this was proof to me that an intelligent being was communicating with me.  Over the next few months when I was alone I would sometimes perceive this overwhelmingly comforting presence with me.  I even had three very symbolic dreams which I recorded in my dream journal.  1. I was standing in what I perceived to be the astral planes (I did not have any conscious projection) and there was absolutely nothing as far as the eye could see.  Only the whitest white that you could imagine.  There I stood before Sagar and he told me "I can hear your thoughts."  When I woke up I was overjoyed to know that when I asked for help and talked to Sagar in this world, it would be heard.  2. I perceived myself as a small rodent climbing up a giant mountain with many obstacles (What i imagine to be life itself).  Sagar appeared as a bird and was flying above me, watching over me.  3. I was alone with Sagar and he told me the importance of learning to be patient.
Although I am not clairvoyant I feel I have a trifle of natural ability to feel spiritual presences.  Randomly throughout the day I can "feel" Sagar standing next to me or sitting in a chair next to me.  The feeling is impossible to explain but very strong.  I perceive him as a man  with a beard who was on this Earth at some point.
One time I was running at the rec center track to condition for boot camp and my legs were giving out.  I asked Sagar in my head to give me the strength to run.  Instantly energy started surging through my legs.  I also feel I do better on school work and tests when I ask for help.
In addition, the details are too vast to go into, but Sagar got me through depression
My highest motivation to project into the astral planes  or RTZ is the opportunity to consciously meet face to face with Sagar and thank him for all he has done for me so far.

On an off note, I  do projection work every night and am able to raise energy throughout my body and stimulate all my chakras.  I can get into a trance most of the time.  However, I never feel as though I am close to projecting.  I do body loosening, rope pulling, rolling over, and almost every exit technique described in RB's Mastering Astral Projection in 90 Days book.  I do deep body relaxation work and deep breathing for about 10 minutes before I start doing energy work but I still feel as though I'm not making any  further progress.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Hello Sagar and welcome to the Pulse!

To have met a personal guide so early in your work must surely be a wondrous thing. I've not had the pleasure but I am beginning to notice their presence more and more. Just on the side, on the periphery, not showing themselves completely yet.

For a conscious exit, have you thought of trying the WBTB technique? Wake, Back To Bed... Go to sleep at a normal time, just set your alarm for 3 or 4 hours worth of sleep, then get up and stay lightly active for 20 to 50 minutes or so, read a book or something... Then lay down and work on your trance state and see what happens. The idea is that your body will slide back off into sleep but your mind can disconnect and remain awake and aware... Noticing... As Frank Kepple suggests. You'll likely see lots of Hypnagogia, just enjoy the show passively watching...at some point the images will stabilize and solidify... Then you can literally step into them.

Otherwise, pay attention to when opportunities present themselves. If you've done a lot of energy work, then various times throughout your sleep cycle should present energetic moments that catch your attention.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

EscapeVelocity,

I will try this technique for the next few weeks and reply with my results and what I've learned.
If you are projecting but have not yet met your spirit guide, once you get into either the Astral proper or RTZ try calling for your spirit guide.  I read this in RB's Astral Dynamics.

I appreciate the help very much.

That's good advice Sagar, thank you.

I've asked in probably ten different ways and environments, my Guides just don't respond in ways I'm aware of. But I do notice them on the edges of my experiences more and more, encouraging me in barely discernible telepathic ways, I'm getting the message increasingly. I don't know, maybe I set it up that way, as a condition for coming down here, a minimum of help. Lord knows, I regret it at times if that's what I did.lol

I'm getting there...this last month has been tough, but rewarding.

Even if its frustrating, it sounds like what you are doing is working if their presence is gradually becoming more and more noticeable.  They may be waiting for something in the future that you are unaware of.  I also imagine that any condition of minimal help would have to have been chosen by you with a very clear and strong intention.  This is, however, off of what I have taken from RB.
While some people are naturals, others have to wait very patiently for these things.  Its probably all for a reason.  (Doesn't it make sense that Astral Projection would take so long for me to learn when I had a dream where my Spirit Guide told me to learn patience?)

Just an update here.

Ive been trying the WBTB technique and last night was the first night I didn't fall asleep right away.  I raised energy and got into a trance before I could snap my fingers and started doing body loosening.  I felt myself walking around my house and through the neighborhood.  After maybe 10 minutes of this I got an overwhelming pressure in the top of my head.  As if my body was trying to push its way out through the top.  I got really excited and then the sensations quit all except for the energy buzz around my body.
Progress is progress no matter how big or small so I'm happy and can't wait to try again tonight.

That's good progress Sagar,
You might try extending the time you stay active by ten minutes or so, before you go back to do trance work. Whatever you are doing, extend it by 5 to 10 minutes, and see if that helps the disconnect. It no doubt varies from individual, and night to night.

It's also part of laying the proper groundwork, prepping yourself for what you are expecting. And you are seeing the results already. Well done!

Stay the detached observer and just watch the process unfold.

Have fun!

I will try just that, thank you.
Also, do you have some sort of tangible/intangible way of staying awake at night?  A lot of the time I wake up and absolutely cannot stay up for the life of me.  I have the will power when I go to bed but once I'm right there at 3am it's really hard.  Or is it more of a routine I just need to get used to?
Thanks as always.

Try a little later, 3am may be too early for you
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Trying to ap in bed is the worst place.   We are programmed to go to sleep in bed.    Also being in bed is too comfortable.    You are more likely to fall asleep.    You can ap in bed but for some people or a lot of people it is a lot harder to do.

Sagar

I can try both of these.  I'll see what setting a different alarm does, and if I still fall asleep I'll move to the couch outside the room.
Thanks guys!  Ill give an update soon on my results!

That is great that you are going to try the couch.   If you fall asleep, keep trying.    Mostly I can stay awake but occasionally I fall asleep so give it a chance for it to work.

Astralsuzy

Just a tip for you that may help you.    You have to stay concentrated every moment.   You have to be aware of any ap symptoms, such as, your mind feeling different, your body feeling lighter or heavier, etc, you may see things, hear sounds and other vibrations.   If you switch off for one moment when you get a vibration, you will fall asleep.

Sagar

Joining this site has been as much of an eye opener so far as when I first learned about astral projection and started meditating.
I will focus on concentrating on any signs my body gives me that I am becoming "projection ready."
How do I know when I am ready though?  How can I tell if my trance is deep enough/too deep and my body is loose enough?  Is it just a knowing that comes with experience?

Astralsuzy

You will know with experience.   There have been times when I was concentrated and my mind was feeling more relaxed than usual.   I did not take it as an ap sign.    I fell asleep.    When I realised it, the next time I was prepared and I ap.   Other times my body feels lighter all of a sudden and I fall asleep.    It is very important to notice the signs.    Those are just some examples.   There are many other ways.
You have to get to know the way your mind, breathing and body starts to feel different.     I know when my breathing starts to feel more relaxed and more at peace, I will ap at any moment.    It usually happens instantly.
There are times when I do an ap technique and it works.     It does not always work.    If it does not work, I change positions and I start again.   I cannot lie in the one spot for too long.
