Strange pulsating recurring cloudform moving in my vision

When I meditate, or basically stare with open eyes in relaxation, after a while I begin to see what looks like a ghostcloud (can't make out colors) moving from the left to the right of my vision, right in front of me. And it keeps going from one side to another, in the same motion as the time before, in the same intervals.
It doesn't look like these swimming blobs on the surface of the eyeball, that can sometimes be observed.

What could this be, Something in my aura?

I can do that with eyes open as well. Sometimes when I'm in the movie theater waiting for the flick to start, I'll do it for fun - there's something about the dim lighting that makes it easier. I've noticed that there are patterns in it (sometimes fading colors, from blue to red to yellow to white, cycling repeatedly) that seem to relate with my pulse and blood flow. If I concentrate to a certain point, all external vision disappears in the "mist". I've assumed this has to do with focusing inward visually so the brain starts to ignore "outward", because the second I lose even a hint of concentration, it's immediately back.

I don't know what it all is, just assumptions, but it seems like good concentration and maybe brow chakra exercises.

The external vision disappearing this... it's interesting to note just how fast it does come back.
The odd time I can actually hold it for a second or two, but never anymore than that.

I like your explanation of "why" this happens.

Yes I have experienced the mist aswell but I felt that the "mist" and the ghost-thingie that I experienced are probably two different things I could be wrong. The ghost-thingie doesn't go away so easily, the "mist" does. The myst is colored, the ghost-thingie isn't. The ghost-thingie appears a more vivid. The ghost-thingie is definatly too slow to be in synch with my pulse, the pause between the intervals is strangely long, like 2-3 seconds. Then it moves from one side to the other in just 1 second or less.

I don't know. I've never had any experience with auras, but I suppose it could be. If it's your aura, you could probably see others' as well, so maybe experiment with trying to see another person's or plant's or animal's.

Ive been noticing the same thing for the past ...6 months give or take. Sometimes they start to swirl around, but in the same way that you describe... with the timing and all. Then it starts to gather in a circle and I cant tell if it zooms in or out but then that just repeats over and over. There is definitely a pattern the times that I "look" hard enough, almost a bright blue contrasted with yellow.

I'll let you know what conclusions I draw once I get to that point lol. Still dunno but it is very relaxing to watch.
Leaning over
Crawling up
Stumbling all around
Losing my place
Only to find I've come full circle.

Me too! It feels like your focus sucks in an inch, ... have any of you done the virtual lsd ... and you know how when u look away and things start moving? ... well it's kinda like that ... i'll just be relaxing, and sitting, and then i'll just feel it come on ... very weird. Like it moves in weird pulses and flows. I think stookie's right, it might just be a brow exercise, cuz that's where i feel it.

Now with shades and aura's, i've never seen out of place ones, but i've seen aura's before. very awesome as well. maybe shades, but i don't remember. I've seen grid work before, and weird colors fly around before, but that's a whole 'nother thing. And mists ... what do you mean by mists, plz elaborate?

Can you describe "ghostcloud a bit more? If it looks like a cloud like fractal form, it could be:
"phosphene" images that are more part of eye physiology and creating an overlay effect, but can be very vivid and occur before hypnagogic visualization and scenery.

This is exactly what's in my visual field during this phosphene stage. I used a visualization called CloudSkies then adjusted it to match what I see.
