Ok so I didn't get too many answers on my previous post, so maybe I'll try here. I've been working on APing for the past two weeks. I've listened to different Binaural Beats that coincide with the different brain waves that are given off in the different stages of sleep. Now for some reason, I've listened to each one for ten minutes, with little or no change in state of consciousness. I've noticed though when they do switch that I see a new light pattern behind my eyelids, at first, and then it goes back to the way it was.

I repeat "I will astral project" every time I exhale. I visualize my body floating above my bed, don't feel anything. I visualize some kind of vehicle that I can project myself into, if and when I do. I tell it what I want it to do. I've listened to the ringing in my ears for 20 minutes with no change of consciousness. I don't think I've ever even witnessed the vibrations that everyone has.

There are too many methods and I can't find one that I can confide in to help me project. Can somebody help a curious young guy out and offer some suggestions? Thank you everyone!

Your mind's too active and you're trying to do too many things.

First of all, binaural beats do nothing for me, and they certainly won't do anything on their own.

Affirmations, visualisations, etc. won't do anything until deep trance, near or after vibrations. You need to relax further and forget yourself before you can do this stuff.

I'm not doing all of these at the same time. I'm picking certain things and keeping with them until it's time to actually fall asleep.

You have to deeply relax. When you're more relaxed than you've ever been in your life (without falling asleep), you might be close to trance. After you get into a good trance is a good time to start an exercise.

Taking the time with relaxation techniques might not sound fun, but it's a skill that will be a tremendous help in the OBE long run.

Also, try at a time other than when you normally fall asleep - you're more inclined to just pass out then.

I tried listening to that sort of thing once just out of curiosity and it didnt work for me either. As others have said, it sounds as if you mind is too active. If your mind is too active, it's not gonna happen. If your body is relaxed and your mind is not active enough, you are going to fall asleep. The key is that you have to get the right balance. It can be hard at first but it does get easier. Good luck.
