Ive been practiving AP for a while now. (around 1-2 months) So far i can get to where my body starts getting numb. I imagine i have hands, and i pull them through my body, and when i do i can feel tingling and numbing wherever i do that at. after i do that a lot, and im really relaxed i start feeling like im falling or sinking, and then all of a sudden my breathing involuntarily becomes heavy and hard. it always happens whenever i get to this stage and it always seems to waken me and disrupt my focus and relaxation. has anyone had this happen? its like a roadblock to being able to AP.
it is a roadblock of sorts- but now that you recognize it next time it happens simply go "hey, thats cool" and dont think any more about it. try focusing your attention on a mental rundown.
Its good that your able to get that far at all...the real thing shouldnt be to far away ;)
My breathing become hard too. It seems this happens right before or during Mind awake body asleep. All of a sudden I hear myself take in a huge gasping breath. It may not be that the breathing is different, it may be the auditory sound of your breathing is magnified, or breathing autopilot is being engaged. In any case, this has knocked be out of mind awake body asleep (MABA) many times.
Don't think of it as a roadblock, think of it as a road sign. Just think, now you know where you are on the road to phasing, no more wallowing in the dark (no pun intended).
Keep it up, and this will no longer effect your state. It will become just one of many guidepost.
good luck

cool, ill think less of it. i was going to try last night but i think because i have an exam comming up has got my mind shot.
I used to get heavy breathing. Now when I am try to get into focus 10 or during meditation my breathing gets very shallow. I sometimes get scared that I am not breathing at all and it breaks my concentration.
