I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in xanths phasing primer or anything... perhaps it has and I forgot... but when you close your eyes and you're 'staring' at the blackness, you need to completely forget you have eyes.

Maybe it's just me but I've noticed when doing my 'noticing' and trying to keep my eyes still I'm still completely aware of my eyes, which kind of prevents me from phasing as quickly as I could.

I also remembered I saw an astral projection guide that talks about how it is possible to have 360 degree vision during astral projection, which in theory is quite possible since you're not actually using your eyes.

I'm not sure if I've done a good job at explaining this, but when you close your eyes to phase, don't look at anything, try to completely forget you have eyes.. if you try too hard not to move them then you'll be too aware of them and it could distract you from phasing.

Remember you aren't looking at anything, it's simply going to appear in your hypothetical 'field of vision'

When you're "awake" your eyes make constant micro movements to completely assess the environment.  You won't be able to phase or project unless you can stop your eyes from doing that.  It can be quite difficult to stop your eyes.  It takes practice.
be awesome.

I thought the moment you phase your body is essential in REM meaning your eyes are moving sporadically anyway.... it don't think it matters if they're moving, just how aware you are of them.
