Although I try to time most of my astral projection attempts during the daytime, sometimes my schedule  only allows me to practice while I'm about to go to bed. Does anyone think that having someone sleeping next to you affects having an experience, or even affects the person who is in bed with you?

It doesn't affect me because I wear earplugs (he snores)- but really, it depends on the partner.  He sleeps so deeply I could be having my own apocalyptic battle in there and he wouldn't notice.  However, once I tried to pull him out and it freaked him out immensely, even though he knew I was going to.
So, it depends.

Hi
Yes, and she snores, couldnt resist, one for the guys.
However if you use headphones with just loud enough white noise playing the problem is neutralised. I have exceptional hearing and this is a major problem if left unattended.
Apart from the occasional wallop when entering the phase, no real problems.
unless I myself start snoring then I wake myself up.......
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Hey Cft :) Long time since we spoke and since i posted :) I was meaning to send you that message i was on about but it seems irrelevant to do so now but thanks for your consideration :)

Hey to everyone else in this post,

Firstly i have to disagree on the fact that having someone lie next to you doesn't affect your projections because for me this is a major variable in whether i will successfully project or not.

Secondly, I also feel the need to say that using headphones for astral projection is a terrible idea and i would rather put up with the snoring. I mean i learned to meditate by using those monroe tapes through the headphones but now the headphones only seem to hinder me because if i listen carefully enough and focus with headphones i can invoke a very strong white noise which i can use to project however when i have the headphones in my ears even if the device is not turned on it makes invoking this noise alot harder.

As for sleeping near people while attempting to project, i have done this many times and although it isn't a prevention in itself it is still quite a complex area to consider.

Firstly, If the person is sleeping its easy enough to be drawn into their dreams or them to be drawn into yours and their presence in itself can cause anxiety while projecting and the feeling of a threat depending on the physical proximity of the two and i dare say maybe even the functional proximity.

I remember that when i was in Moldova with my friend , she is only a friend but there had been a mistake with the room bookings so we shared a double bed and i projected near the morning after numerous times of been woken up due to her fustration regarding my snoring. Anyways i managed to project and i thought a dead woman was on her side of the bed and she was threatening me and puked on my neck and this happened multiple times when projecting in a vicinity that she is present in such as a house even if she was down stairs.

I think we all have some sort of security mesaures that our psyche puts in place for us to be ...lets say for a better use of an idiom we say.....to prevent us from been hacked by other  peoples psyche.

There is lots more to consider regarding this issue but am out of practice and tired so i ll leave you with that

best of luck

My better half snore as well and I wear earplugs also. She is also a bit of a squirmer. I tried a couple of times to Phase in bed, but the squirming was too much of an interruption. Sound is one thing I can get over, movement not so much. I find it much easier to Phase in another room in a comfortable chair. I use my reclining chair for this. We have taught ourselves all our lives the bed is for sleep. No wonder so many people fail to OBE. But, having a OBE out of a lucid dream does occur when we are in bed. The key is we are 100% relaxed with not a worry or thought in our minds when we are lucid dreaming.
Good Luck  :-)
