Hey newbie here. Ive been trying to astral project for the past few days. I have been using some low astral meditation music/sounds on youtube which seems to help. I get to what i believe to be the vibrating state and i get a weird but nice feeling. Well what happened yesterday night was that i got flashes of what seems to be a blueish light. But my eyes are closed, is this normal? I can never seem to go further with this. Thanks

yep its normal, just try to not overthink it, just observe and let yourself relax deeper and deeper.

As Tofu said, that's perfectly normal.
Just keep doing what it was you were doing and try to ignore all bodily sensations.  :)

my advice is not to worry about what's normal.  as far as the ego self is concerned, none of it is normal and it will try it's darndest to freak you out about that.

just roll with it.

i might also suggest making sure to maintain a dedicated meditative practice.  teach yourself to hold a single minded focus OR teach yourself to immerse yourself in visualization.  both would be quite helpful.

dc449, I'm new at this too and after one very short and spontaneous successful projection I find myself hitting the same wall as you do, so close but not quite there.  :-( Often times once I hit this stage I find my body feels especially energetic and awake, and I have such a hard time keeping my eyes shut or from trying to focus.  Just wondering if you have the same issue and how you go about relaxing, or if you just get stuck in that hazy dreamy in between state?

I did have problems staying focus but the more i try to project the better i get. I listen to this music on youtube that helps me relax, i do have trouble relaxing with out this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDgTWoe9KGg
I again tried last night but to no avail but it felt like me chest area got heavier. I thought this was the way i was lying and breathing but i only find my chest area heavier when i am trying to project. I also got that strange but nice feeling when i thought about disconnecting from my body but thats as far as i go. I will try again tonight.

I feel i got to the closet i have been this morning. I got to the vibration stage and i got a really strong funny feeling, the strongest i have had. The flickery lights i was seeing were getting really faster and 'stronger'. But like the other times i just lose concentration. Ill try again tonight and see how i go.
Edit: Also to add. When im doing it should i be feeling tired like i am about to fall asleep. Or just relaxed?

Re;axation is the key. Just keep thinking "relax", but don't think it in a stressful or forceful way. Just accept everything that happens and sort of 'notice' it happening in a slightly curious way, but then let it go and notice whatever is happening in the here and now.

Before you project are you meant to be paralyzed?
