Stickies

Talk to Adrian or one of the mods (I think mods can make sticky topics anyway).  Adrian makes the topics sticky because he believes that they should be near the top so when new users join they have access to some discussions on core skills.

Hi Paul,

It's true in the Astral Consciousness forum that there are a lot more Stickies. As Links Shadow pointed out, the thought being that they are instructive or easily accessible. The moderators can stick or unstick topics, however I for one would not go about unsticking topics made so by others.

The idea of a "stickie" page is something to think about. We have grown so much here that adjustments and fine tuning will be considered, I'm sure. I will alert Adrian to this issue for you.

As Nick quite rightly pointed out, topics are made sticky because they are likely to be of great interest and relevance to people. Most of the sticky topics in the Astral Consciousness forum for example relate to important methods associated with Astral projection and phasing which you will almost certainly not find anywhere else. If the topics were to be made "unsticky" they would very quickly disappear if no one posts against them, and the information would not be available for the benefit of others.  You for example find the Astral Locale topic of interest and so do many others, that is why it is sticky.

I do review the sticky topics from time to time, and "unsticky" them if appropriate, but as it is I am satisfied that the topics which are sticky have sufficient value for them to remain so.

Do you think you could find a way to ...destickify the non most recent posts in the top most recent posts option at the top?  So it's really the most recent and not just 25+ stickies at the top?  

I mentioned this before, but... you know ;x

Adrian, one thing that you could do although it would slow down page load time is to increase the number of topics displayed per page.  I am currently using a 56K modem and the pages load very fast and I personally would have no problem with them loading a little bit slower and be able to see a few more topics per page.  This is just an idea that you may want to consider.
