Totally agreed. After about 10 minutes of exercise the brain starts to produce endorphin, an hormone that causes a sense of well being,  relaxation and lethargy, in other words, it is some sort of trance yes. Other ways to produce that hormone are laughing, dancing, playing an instrument, swimming, singing, listening to music, bathing, etc...

Regular exercise has been helpful to the physical body and also for getting the body relaxed. Then, when I am doing AP, there is an easier flow to the proper state.

Another thing that works well is to do a chi kung pattern (especially a dynamic moving one) followed by what I call a chi flow.

Most noteworthy, one must definitely vigorously exercise for preparing oneself
for the trance state. Entering and maintaining the trance state becomes
much much easier when I jog a mile in the morning and a mile at night. After
a few weeks of doing that kind of running it made my surface mind as clear as a
bell and easy to control.

Well, I don't know about vigorous exercise for me, but would any exercise, like Yoga, help?
I suppose as body, mind, emotions etc are all interwined then looking after one aspect (i.e through exercise) would help you AP, then in theory other things such as healthy eating would help too. Maybe those who "can't" AP and eat junk food should eat more healthily and see what happens, same to those who don't normally exercise, it would be intresting to see the results
