Seeing vs. Perceiving Images

The title of this post may not make sense, so let me explain. In my recent experiences, I have noticed a difference in how I perceive things vs. how I perceive them in a lucid dream. This reminded me of something that has been bugging me for a while, so I thought I should just go ahead and ask here.

In a lucid dream, I more or less see as clearly and vividly as I do when I am awake.
In my most recent experiences, I have been able to get up and walk around my room, but I have only been able to see blackness. However, I had some instances where I could only see blackness, yet I perceived the images of things almost "behind" the blackness. I am not talking about 3D Blackness (or whatever phrase that has been changed to). I think it may be due to my eyes still sending me image data of the blackness behind my eyelids intertwined with some form of nonphysical data.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Hello The Jza

I think I know what you mean.  I've had many OBEs where I can't see, but I know where everything is.  This isn't through memory either - I am able to go to an object, without any vision.

Check out Astral Mind Sensing here http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17866

Is this what you're talking about?

It's similar to perceiving presences.  Occasionally, I know a presence is in the room with me, but I can't see them.

If I've got the wrong end of the stick with what you mean - apologies in advance!  :)

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

Yeah, when I'm in a light trance, I get not-imagery: Nothing visible, just a really clear impression of what it is that I'm not seeing. Like so many other things trance-related, it's hard to put into words...

Thanks for the replies.

Selski, that link was what I was describing. I should have checked the FAQ section first... didn't even think about that before I posted.
