So last night i was lay there in bed about 10 mins after relaxing and seeing colours i started getting the vibrations and they got stronger and stronger but i couldent get out of my body i was wondering am i going about it the right way ?

I'd say yes, just relax, and keep practicing. The more you practice the more progress you'll ultimately achieve. I was curious if this was at night before bed, or if you were doing this during the day as meditation? In any case keep at it, the rewards are well worth the time put in.
