Title: accidentally astral projected?
Post by: inkedflamingo on November 08, 2012, 17:58:51
Last night I listened to a past life, meditation DVD. I'm having major difficulties getting my mind's eye to see, so I felt like I was pretending to meditate rather than really doing it. What I mean is that when the DVD was telling me to look down at my feet I couldn't actually see my feet to look or anything else I was told to "see." However, the voice and the music helped me focus instead of thinking. After about a half hour I realized that I hadn't heard what the woman was even saying for a minute (or more?). So I was wondering if I had fallen asleep but quickly realized that I had not. I then saw my 3rd eye blink. Is this possible? It had lashes, just like physical eyes, but was larger and right where the 3rd eye is. The flat blackness of my lids then started seeing in 3d. I then saw a face trying to come through and I believe it was a guide (I've been trying to contact her for help in using my 3rd eye this last week and her face attempt to show once before). Then I started seeing what I felt right away were stars. Lots and lots of stars. My eye started opening up so much that I thought I was opening my physical eyes so I start closing them tightly but still felt the feeling of them opening. For a second I thought that I was actually outside and under the stars but quickly recalled that I was in my room meditating. The stars were moving past me as if I were moving fairly quickly but I didn't feel myself leave my body and I didn't feel like I was moving quickly. This makes me think that it can't be astral projection? Basically it LOOKED like I was moving through the stars but it didn't FEEL like I was moving through the stars. The stars were bending and turning ahead of me as if I were going through a hole. I've never had any opinion on black/worms holes and I'm very new to meditating (so I don't know if they are connected to astral projection?), but right away I thought I was in a black/worm hole and I was excited to see where I was going. Then....the meditation CD ended....blah!  :| I tried to hold on to it but it was impossible when I heard the TV in the other room.

I've been thinking about this all day and it's making my third eye tender. I'm excited about the possibilities of this experience but seriously wondering what it is that I actually experienced.

Any opinions?

Congratulations are in order here, great job inkedflamingo. That definitely sounded like you were successful. Next time relax/release/ let go and allow what happens happen. Just passively observe everything with a air of curiosity. You will get better with practice, but right now you are in the beginning of your practice. This is where engaging the "brain" into the equation can sometimes hinder your progress. Just experience, now, write down what you are seeing, what's working for you. There will be a lot of time later to analyse it.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Just ordered Robert Bruce's Astral Dynamics. I am hoping that this book is filled with as much information as I've read!

Sadly, it's not.  It's just my opinion, but it's not a book for a beginner... actually, it's not really a book anyone should read.  He's littered it with too many Fear-based opinions.
I highly suggest NOT reading it.

Xanth expressed his opinion so I will too.  I bought the book years ago.  I thought it was an awful book.  It was full of garbage.  I threw it out in the bin.  I did not think it was worthwhile for someone else to read.

Just remember these words when reading any books or watching any video on this topic. SEE THROUGH! Everyone has the right idea, they just explain in a way that works for them. SEE THROUGH, has helped me understand a number of different things in life!  :-)

You are right Lionheart.  When I read ap books I learn from it but there are things in it that I do not agree with.  I ignore the things that I do not agree with.  Everyone has different opinions on what is they think is best when it comes to ap.  Sometimes you can get good ideas reading ap books.  It can help you with ap.

I've found in the early days of stellar travel, all the EXPECTED physical sensations were present. On later excursions especially one where I went past everything until a tiny dot was left to see, these physical sensations were non existant. The reasoning behind this, apart from a greater NPR understanding, is that to accelerate this distance in such a short time your mass would be infinite. This is impossible in the NPR as the laws of physical physics can't apply.
If you think you'll feel acceleration you will.
If you know you can't because... then you will not.
Thoughts are extremely powerful. They control your environment in more ways than can be expressed at that moment within your travels.
Well done.

I read Astral Dynamics online and I can assure you, you definitely won't find anything new... and you are already doing fine without it.

I think that once a beginner has success... they should endeavour on their own to decide what THEIR reality within NPMR is.

Bruce's experiences are very personal to him.... by taking his advice on the 'astral' you would be coloring your own experiences with his expectations.

Xanth's online book is excellent and he tells it as it is...

This will be a fitting companion to your progress and a better resource.

I have seen this 'eye' blinking... as though my eye was reflected on my eyelids (which is impossible) it even had a pink glow about it as though light was shining through my eyelids... although I have only experienced this twice. When I was younger and about a week ago.  :-)

Thanks Bedeekin!  :D
It's much appreciated.
And I'm always looking for feedback on it to make it better.
Whatever parts aren't clear... or are confusing... I'm trying to improve.

Don't mention it Xanth, it really is a great non-BS book... I read it not so long ago actually.

"The question we're going to answer now is, "How do I go about Phasing into a non-physical environment with an astral awareness?" Or in other words, how do I project into the non-physical with a waking awareness?"

... Stuff like that just simplifies what Bruce and many others are guilty of making complicated and seem mystically unattainable.

Well nuts! Since I ordered it I will still read it but will keep everyone's comments in mind. I think I'll also check out Xanth's online book  :-)

I have read AD too and found it somewhat interesting. Its a different perspective on what I've experienced but with no experience it would be hard to perceive some inherent points.
The energy work is new to me, pun not intended, and trying a few examples seemed to be helpful.
It's another's perspective and open to your interpretation. If you find the contents helpful in any way then its served the purpose that was intended.
Not a beginners book Ill agree.
Im not following on with the energy work within the pages but after reading it I found understanding the vehram energy system for example, easy to do.
My knowledge is gained through personal experiences with no outside help but one book I've read. That being The Projection of the Astral Body by Sylvan Muldoon and Hereward Carrington. This I read after ten years of projecting back in the seventies.
Each to their own as always.
Some like tea, others coffee...
