Strange dreamlike experience

Well I came here to see if anyone could shed some light on this strange experience I had.  I have heard of astral projection and out of body etc but never put much credence in it.  Maybe someone could help me understand what occurred to me this morning.

I woke up normally, had some cereal, but was still a tad hung over so I decided to lay back down to rest.  I was sort of half asleep and really relaxed when I started hearing this jingling noise, sort of like a buch of little bells.  I began focusing on the noise in my mind and it got clearer and clearer - I felt like I was buzzing and then the bells went away and were replaced with a very deep and slow bass drum.  The buzzing got more intense and I began feeling light - which scared me - and the bass drum sped up super fast (like my heartbeat no doubt) but I didn't want to lose what I was experiencing and willed myself to calm and focus on the drum.

Here's where it gets weird.  The lightness came back and I could see my arms lifting up while... my body was still laying flat.  I willed myself to sit up and just found myself standing - but for some reason I couldn't seem to look back at my body, I was focused on the window for some reason.  I wanted to go out and I thought I could fly and I walked to the window and it seemed in slow motion - but when I willed myself outside I very quickly fell through the window and to the ground - I could even see my shadow land on its head, and BOOM I was back in my bed and I thought I had woken up.  So I got up cause I heard some noises outside my room, I walked out and across the common area to my roommate's room and noticed it was totally cleaned out, very very white, and in the closet there was what looked like a wachine machine!  When I approached it I felt a distinct static shock in my right hand, so I turned around and walked back out into the common area which was now vaguely familiar but totally different.  Everything was very white... but it didn't seem pleasant.  I could vaguely hear the bass drum and bells in the distance.

The room seemed to get bigger and bigger, and it became very dreamlike.  I was kind of scared because I felt lost and didn't know where my body was.  I could hear murmering but nobody was around.  I was also hearing trickling water from every direction and I found one source to be a faucet that was running, I took a drink and it tasted and felt totally real which kind of freaked me out.  Never have I had a dream so vivid.  I then noticed in the corner of my eye a chatbox, just like one you'd see playing a shooter game online.  Someone typed "Hello There." but I seemed unable to respond and was fumbling with the controls.  Although I had a distinct feeling that if I concentrrated I could type something.  I finally got out "HELP IM LOST" (yes, I even accidently left capslock on haha) .... and suddenly I felt my body cough, and I came out of it.  I definitely didn't feel like I 'woke up' like I normally do - it more felt like my body coughed and called to me and I just turned my attention to it.

Definitely the strangest experience I have ever had.

Congratulations. You just had what we refer to as a "false awakening", or, in other words, an OBE! Pretty cool actually! The weird thing about a false awakening is, you usually don't realize you're OBE and you begin to question the strangeness of your surroundings. It's not until you wake up for real that you sit back and go "whoa!"

That is quite right. The first experience was most likely a full OBE. The buzzing and jingling noises are clear indicators that an OBE is about to happen. The second experience was likely a false awakening. You thought that you heard real physical people in the next room when you were still hearing astral noises.
