Title: Advice please
Post by: Audreybot on June 24, 2012, 16:45:09
Hello! I'll start off by saying I'm new here, and relatively new to the world of astral projection. I've been trying without success to project for about half a year, maybe more. Whenever I would try to project, I would end up falling asleep and having lucid dreams instead.

However, yesterday morning when I was trying to take a nap on the couch, I felt as if I was vibrating and shaking out of my body. I got excited but was able to calm myself down, and after a few minutes I rolled out of my body. I stood up and looked out at what appeared to be an alien landscape, while still being able to feel myself laying on the couch. I wanted to explore, but I suddenly got really freaked out and couldn't move. Everything got darker until I could barely see, and I fled back to my body (I'm not quite sure how, it just happened) and then fell asleep.

I dream every night and this felt very different, but is it possible that this was just a weird dream? And if it wasn't, what happened? If this really was astral projection, how could I get past my fear?

Anyway, thanks for reading, and any help or advice is greatly appreciated. :)

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
Your fear is yours only. Its you who's scaring yourself. With this why get scared?
Have a search on the site and the FAQ section, there's lots on this subject.

The only way to get past your fears is to ask yourself what you fear.
Maybe right out a list of fears you have and ask yourself what you need to do to overcome these fears.
i.e. Am I scared to be separated from my physical body ? What are my fears about separating from my physical body ? What are my fears about OBEs/AP ?

Good job.

The fear is normal. Until you get a full fledged projection in and confront your fears head on and defeat them, they will well up from time to time.

I have many 'semi-projections' very much like that. Weird enough, those semi projections are where I have encountered the vast majority 90%+ of the scary things I have seen thus far. At this point, I blame the 'semi' aspect. I have a hypothesis that if you don't full disconnect and have crossed streams of data, primal fears usually inevitably get the better of you.

Anyway, good job, don't be discouraged.

Cheers,
