Ok, so yesterday i took 2 .5mg xanax around 9 in the morning for my anxiety. I got home from school and it was around 4 o'clock and i was like a zombie i was extremely tired. So i took a nap woke up around 5 waited 30 minutes and then went back to sleep again till 9 30. during this time id say it was about 6 30 i started having the symptoms of astral projecting. First my heart felt like it was beating through my chest, then my body started to viberate intensivly, and then i started hearing loud roaring noises in my ears. i started seeing through my astral eyes on and off and then i fell into sleep paryalsis. it was my first time in sleep paraylsis so i started to panick cause i could yell to my mom or move so i was fully awake after this. once i get into sleep paralsis, would it be a good idea to imagine myself leaving my body? cause i did that for like the first 10 seconds and it almost felt like i was falling through my bed but i couldnt see through my astral eyes. respond please?

There are a whole host of ways to exit from that point.  I might recommend that you don't take 1mg of Xanax and try to AP.  I'm not a Dr. and I'm not giving you medical advice per se, but I am a psych grad student and one that is fed up with the medical system and the way pills are thrown down people's throat.  I'm also a recovering addict and I know way way way too many people that are addicted to benzos like xanax and valium.  It's bad stuff and there are better ways.  Holistic ways.  You may not be interested in hearing about it, but I'm gonna tell you anyway.  I'm in the process now of tapering off of opiate replacement medication (methadone) and that entails a lot of anxiety, rapid heart rate, and high blood pressure.  Through my AP practice I have learned ways to quite literally slow my heart rate down and the practice in general reduces stress and anxiety in day to day life.  Maybe you should consider some of these options.  I really don't mean to tell you what to do, but I promise you, addiction/dependence on xanax is a very very bad thing.  I've seen the withdrawal from it send people into shock and even have strokes.  Do whatever you can to stop taking it.  Talk to your Dr., find a different way.

The other reason you shouldn't take xanax, or such a high dose (I guess it's not that high compared to addict who eat 4mg at a time, but clinically you can get it as low as .25mg) of it is because look at how much you slept.  I mean we all get sleep deprived and crash sometimes, but hearing that you took 1mg of xanax first (which doesn't seem terribly relevant to the story anyway) and knowing what that does to someone, I think you may have difficulties APing on such a high dose.

Ok, enough of me telling you what to do.  If you get to this point of sleep paralysis and your mind is wide awake you're pretty much done for as far as having a chance at successfully getting out of your body.  You have let your consciousness drift away till you're almost asleep.  It's almost like you are tricking your subconscious (or higher self, or whatever you wanna call self) into thinking you're asleep and letting go so you can leave your body.

I never get "astral sight" or see through my eyes.  And a falling sensation can be the symptom of a trance but not necessarily a symptom of an OBE.
be awesome.
