And the universe was shaped like a cube

An OBE I had a few months ago. I was outside next to the apartment I used to live in. I decided I wanted to fly, so I flew up..up. Before I knew it I passed by stars and went outside the "universal boundary". To my intrigue the universe was shaped like a cube with a thick greyish white border. Any thoughts?

Obviously, not literal.  An abstract concept your consciousness came up with to illicit the experience.

I've been that far outside it long ago and I'm sure it appeared spherical.
The cube made me think you'd been assimilated
Couldn't resist that one  :-D

What was the "outside" of the universe like? I always wonder, but I never try to explore during APs, because every time I fly too high and start entering the upper layers of the atmosphere, I start freaking out. I have to overcome that fear. Plus, any observation during APs may not represent the true facts related to our physical universe. Even mysteries about legends, lost worlds, past civilizations, etc. We can not be sure if the answers given or the environment shown are from our reality, and untempered by our subconscious thoughts and believes. At least not while we are attached to our physical bodies and our APs are not 100% conscious and free.

I've had time to recall this better. The nights journey took me very high respect to our beloved planet Earth. I remember being in the familiar setting outside of our galaxy. It appeared as we see Andromeda, a beutiful barred spiral. I looked around and searched what could be seen and decided to go towards the darkest section. I went as fast as possible retaining sight and this seemed a forever task. I jumped forwards by seeing faint stars and willing myself there. After several of these jumps the blackness before me started to grow. Turning my perception to where I had come from, the view of a clustered whiteness started to develop. This being made of countless stars.
Then at the edge I saw nothing but a silent blackness. I decided to see how far I could go by travelling backwards. I had no more light sources infront of me. The choice being made I turned my attention to reducing the size of the white cluster. After many more jumps that took me almost out of time I zoomed my vision into the faintest of a white dot.
I then thought to myself," If I lose my position or awareness of getting back what would happen?"
I knew to be worried was acceptable, to have fear wasn't.
A thought of the physical body snatched me from that far away location back to where we are. U managed to realise a view on the return, I couldn't stop just saw everything getting lighter and stars zooming past.
I woke up from this with a bodily reflex, had I been a cat I'd be stuck to the ceiling.
My learning from this was more fear suppression is required and when times almost up return with dignity. A panic return ends you in the ceiling.
Still, retained the memory for quite some time. It took a while to recall it. Early 70's or possibly late 60's. I can't remember what bedroom I was in to date it.
