Were These Experiences Relevant?

Hi everyone. This is my very first post and I am excited to get started on my path or what have you. Anyways, when I was little I apparently saw eyes and stuff looking at me- always pointed them out. My sister and I would also wake up screaming and my mother would be unable to wake me, and it would just have to run its course (she just told me about this a little while back.) While my sister has always had somewhat of psychic abilities when she was little, she now doesn't pursue them very much. I, like my father, have always been interested in everything esoteric. A while back, I had a week-long stretch where every time I woke up I had the sensation that I was falling back into my body. I had done it before, but it was always after I dreamed I tripped over a couch or something. :p

So, this week-stretch I was getting more and more annoyed, because I would wake up and sometimes it would feel I was a good two or three feet away from my bed and it was quite a jolt to hit it! Or it felt like I was standing up and I was flung back. I asked my family if they had similar experiences, and they said no. My dad said he did though, when I went to his house and asked him. He didn't know what it meant.

I did some googling and found out it was possibly out of body experiences. I had heard of these things before but didn't really know what to think of them.

Before I go on I have another anecdote. Before I found out about OOBEs, I was on the phone in bed with my (then) girlfriend and we were arguing. Then she hung up on me! I phoned her back. Regularly it went to her voicemail or just rang, but this time a man's voice said the generic, "Unable to connect call." It was just weird because it was a man's voice and that had never happened before or after. It was then that I felt like I could not open my eyes. To be honest I may not have wanted to, but the sensation was pretty real to me at the time. I could feel myself clutching at the sheets, and I could feel everything. But then I could see, and I couldn't imagine it away (as in, think of something else, so I don't think I was imagining.) It was a magnificent light staircase, and a Christ-like figure or even Christ Himself (I am a Christian and read a lot of theology and stuff, so it may have trickled in to what I was seeing-- but again, I don't think I was imagining it) and He lead me up the stairs. We walked through a tunnel of swirling-- what looked like galaxies or nebulae-- and at the top were four tall angelic figures, with wings straight up. In the center where one would expect some sort of godhead was an inverted throne, as in, a hole in the ground that if you filled with cement, you would get a cement throne. Like a mold of a throne, with a golden light coming out of it. Behind this was stars in the sky. I walked down a staircase and I was thinking, that was 7th Heaven. Again, I read up a lot on this so I already knew about the layers of the cosmos, etc.

The sixth was a sunset field, more a valley really. Golden light, rabbits, the lot, surrounded by hills. Above me was an angel pointing a sword. May have been one on a harp or I may be making that up now. Anyways, he was pointing the sword at me and he looked stern. The 7th Heaven was small, like the size of a small room. This one was larger, like a cul-de-sac size. There was an icy staircase leading down, and it looked much bigger (and I had heard that the 5th was icy in Christian mysticism?) but then I opened my eyes. Not too much time had passed, and I phoned my girlfriend and she picked up again. She said she had never turned off her cellphone.

After I had practiced for a while, I eventually started sleeping with my head pointing to the east. Once, this rushing sound came into my ears but I got frightened and awoke. Another time, I suddenly knew, even though I wasn't trying, I was about to project. I felt myself literally sinking, it felt very physical, into the bed. Then I heard, clear as a bell, a man giggling beside me. Like he was on the bed with me. It sounded scary so I panicked and woke up.

A couple other times I felt like I was flying across the room and honestly thought that when I opened my eyes I would be on the floor, but I was back in my bed. This was in the twilight between sleep and wakefulness.

I only had a lucid dream once when I was 7 years old, and it involved a werewolf throwing fruit at me. Unimportant.

Anyways, I want to know if any of this relates to an actual projection or if it is something else? Or am I going crazy?
It has been a while since I've tried but I am making an effort to practice the techniques more. I bought a book from something called an ECK master, but I would rather discuss that in another post. At the moment, I just want to know if I am on the right track and, again, if those were good signs.

Sorry for the long post.

So

The Present Moment

"Crazy" happens when these experiences are outside the sleep, waking-sleep (hypnagogic), or sleep-waking (hypnopompic) states and you are unable to differentiate between them and objective reality. Take a look at the FAQ and Permanent Topics sections of the forums, there is a lot of useful information in there.
