You're right, I also wanted to give it time, and 'sense' my enviroment with my other senses, that's why I tried to get out of my room, because there was only too much blackness in there too (only a tiny source of light, coming from the window), so I wanted to get out to the 'street'!
Anyway, I just saw another topic (how did I miss that?) about the 3D blackness from Laurece, and it stroke me that he/she also saw the 'hologram' figure(s)...only in different colors. Amazing! So, maybe it's a common or should I say a 'real' thing, like the void he describes, kind of a passing or something (maybe that's why I felt this restriction!)

Having read your post, I'm not sure we saw the same thing. My figures were in "quickly drawn" white outlines---for you older readers, think of James Thurber's drawings---with nothing but total transparency inside of them, rather than your hologram ones. I have no idea whether they come in only white, or as in your case, red too. I would think the 3D Blackness comes in many more "flavors" than what either of us has seen.
In retrospect, (due to fading memory) I'm not positive I saw stars in the background, but I did distinctly see a black void which had a definite feeling/sense of spatial distance which was greatly unlike anything I'd seen before.
Insanity, I share your experiences about being completely blind and unable to see anything when I'm trying to AP. Recently somewhere on the Internet I read something about [badly paraphrased] "if you can't visually see anything, try percieving your surroundings with non-5 senses oriented means....attempt to percieve ("see") with your feelings...etc. Sometimes focusing on the "feelings/sense" of what is around you in the blackness will open your "minds-eye" to visually seeing what is there...." The astral doesn't operate on our 5 physical reality senses, so as they say, "When in Rome, percieve as the Romans do...." :)
I'll play around with doing this the next time I try to AP in a few weeks....that is, using whatever emotions/sense to sense what (if anything) is around me in the blackness.
Elsewhere, I read that shifting your "trying to see" from your eyes to a spot close to your heart chakra will open your sense of sight in the astral. In other words, imagaine you're trying to see out of knot-hole in your upper chest rather than your eyes. The author of that advice was given it by a Helper over There and it worked instantly for him. The next time I try to AP I'll also be playing with that technique in order to see more than just flat blackness every time.
Btw, our past AP experiences are fairly similiar. I also see an inordinate number of bright, beckoning lights (mostly white) such as you've described.....and images like your "meaningless" King of Hearts person suddenly appearing are also fairly common for me.

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I need your help, with a strange experience I had.
First of all you need to know that I have been having OBEs and projections (not at will usually), ever since I was a child. In the last months I am able to project or have an OBE at will, but I can't see a thing this way. I mean I'm completely blind (this was never part of my experiences). Anyway, another thing you need to know, is that about 10 years ago I saw (fully awake) a beautiful white, and bright light, that was sending out love to me. I could also hear a chorus (wonderful voices), and there was a man by the light, laughing with great enthousiasm with his arms wide open (calling me to him/and the light). I got scared because of this 'outburst' of enthousiasm (I was quite young), but then I cried for hours for not going to that light.
So, 10 years later (2 days ago), I had another willing projection. My astral body was completely blind again, but I decided this time to give it a try and get out of my bedroom (thinking that maybe in due time, I would be able to see, I didn't want to miss the opportunity again), so I started pushing myself upwards (in standing position), and at some point it got harder to move up, so I pushed with my 'hands' really hard, and suddenly, while I was struggling into the complete darkness, I got face to face with an AMAZING blue light, that was coming towards me (or I was going to it...?). But I mean AMAZING BLUE COLOR, you know? The funny thing was that it was sending out a restriction to me, as if I was not allowed there, or something (it wasn't hostile...). I wouldn't stop though. I was magnetized. I pushed even harder, and suddenly a card came out of the light (the KING OF HEARTS...which is......strange!!!!), and I said 'what is this? You gotta be kidding!' and I pushed again, and I got even closer to the beautiful light, and there I saw a red human-like figure (like an hologram, I mean there were red rays going through the figure), and he came out 'against' me, but not in a dangerous or hostile way. I felt him like a guard or something that was trying to keep me away from the light, but without wanting to hurt me or anything. I was immediately sent back to my body!
Can anyone explain to me:
1. What does the white light stand for (and what was this 'happy to see me man' by the light?)
2. What does the blue light stand for (and what is this red 'guard')? Why wasn't I allowed there? Was it too high for me at this point? If yes, how did I manage to get so close to it??
3. Why can't I see anything when I am projecting at will? Why am I in complete darkness? How can I see again there? I never had this 'problem' in the past!
