It's kind of hard for me to get my head around, but I'll put it as best as I can:

I Got back from a party, and I was staying at my friends house.Got to sleep and I had a dream, not lucid or anything, just a normal dream... I dreamt I was skiing at a ski resort (me and my mate were talking about us going skiing next year). Well anyway, I started to notice that I was in a dream, and thought this would be a perfect oppurtunity to Ap or have and OBE (dunno what the difference is but I'll learn). So anyway the dream started to fade away and I was becoming more aware of my sleeping body. Immediatly I felt these vibrations (which were very noticeable,sp?). I read somewhere that it's good if you focus on the vibrations and go with them... So I did. I then felt my legs and one of my arms floating out of my body (my eyes were still shut though, the vibrations had suddenly gone). I got very excited and thought I'd try and leave my body. I sat up as normal and quickly crawled away form my body.  I then thought I'd have a shot at flying, I thought about floating... But nothing happened. I then walked around the room I was in, and started to jump. My body was alot lighter, but this was no different to my movement etc. in a lucid dream. Then I looked around. I was still at a ski resort, the lucid dream then just continued but I didnt bother doing much.

The strange thing was how realistic the vibrations felt, and me floating out of my body... I realle thought I could feel it happening... I'm guessing it was all just a partly lucid dream.

I'm not all disapointed though, it was still a very interesting experience and I felt I learned from it.

Feel free to comment, I'm off to bed now, give AP another shot

Well, the astral separation does sound a lot like that. Also, dreams don't only take place in the body, but they happen in the astral plane too. Just take a look around at some peoples' experiences. Their filled with dream imagery.

The thing is that the astral is governed by different laws than the physical plane. So, thoughts and the like that take place in ordinary life, manifest in much greater detail there. That's probably the reason why the dream (which continued into the ap) was about skiing--it was based on thoughts about the talk of the ski trip.

The dream stage before sleep is the hypnagogic state. A lot of people don't know this, but the astral body naturally leaves the body during sleep (the reason why some people have shared dream experiences with others). The dreams that take place during the hypnagogic state (sleep-bordering phase) continue into the astral (because hypnagogic and astral dreams are both caused by the same thing).

The AP, based on the post, does sound genuine.

One question though...can it be done again :?  :-)
