Hello All,

I'd like to share a recent AP experience which appeared to contain information about a spiritual practice.

I include the notes from my diary.

"Sun 31.8.24

1:00-1:25am meditation: Chinese-themed astral travel

I meditate on my back and follow the usual visuals. I observe many visuals, even the seeming black void with lights twice. The visuals seem endless and I don't fall asleep (I am able to keep my awareness because of a jet lag effect) but I also don't progress. Even when I appear to visit the void twice, I don't progress to anything memorable.

I change my tactics and instead of the road of following the visuals, I choose to (still on my back) put the focal point of awareness on the area on the very top of my head (improvement after reading Frank Kepple's post collection). This is my more usual/older approach, in which I would "reach out for the vibrations" Monroe-style (from his first book). So as usual, I "prime" myself in this way for some time.

Toilet break. I know it won't disturb the meditation much at this point.

I lie on my right side to "settle for sleep" (I usually wake up to vibrations this way after the "priming").
I follow the visuals for a bit. I'm feeling a subtle shift, of give/release/submit myself to the flow of the experience (that hard to describe feeling).

With this shift, there's a feeling of not feeling my breathing (because not feeling my body?). I worry that I died (heh) and, as a result, I notice my fast breathing and fast heart beat (fear response).
Simultaneously, I perceive that I'm in a tunnel that's taking me fast. I manage to relax into the flow again. I observe my breathing is slow and all is good to proceed.

I'm aware of blissful vibrations (cannot recall when they started as I had been preoccupied with calming myself  :-D ).

I can hear a mosquito noise and I think that I'll have to let myself get the bites as it'll likely sit on my face soon. I'm not going to risk breaking the meditation for this  :-D

I have a feeling again (like in prior experience! and I have just remembered it!) as if both of my thumbs are pressing into a specific point in my upper inner right eye socket (in the small ridge there) as if it means something (but what could it mean?). At the same time, I know that my physical hands/thumbs are not located near my physical eyes [confirmed true, they were elsewhere besides my pillow].

I'm still zooming via a tunnel feeling the blissful vibrations. Suddenly, I perceive a black and white pattern of square tiles but distorted as if a 3D stereogram that comes to life in a shape of a Chinese-like tiger/dragon.

Mindful of Frank's advice to keep it short, I begin to take notes of the whole experience with a faint thought "visuals f**k that" (whaaat? did I really think that? am I that naughty in the depths of my mind?  ) but realise I'm still in the meditation.

So I come back to take notes for real to not lose the memory of the special experience.

In the morning, I'm curious about the thumbs and eye sockets. I ask the AI: "What spiritual practice involves pressing thumbs into eye sockets in a meditation?"
Answer: "The practice you're referring to is likely Shambhavi Mudra, a yogic technique used in meditation and spiritual practices. In Shambhavi Mudra, practitioners gently press their thumbs into their eye sockets while focusing their gaze at the point between the eyebrows, also known as the third eye or Ajna chakra1. This practice is believed to help direct energy flow, enhance concentration, and deepen meditation."

End of my diary entry :)

I'm quite mind-blown as, to my knowledge, I had never read or come accross such a practice in my waking life.

Later, when I discussed this experience with my friend, I noticed that in addition to the practice, which has a Chinese feel to it, I also saw the Chinese-tiger/dragon, affirming the theme of the experience.

I imagine I might want to explore this practice and give it a go! Any thoughts? :)

Hello BarboraD, welcome! I've thoroughly enjoyed everything you've shared in The Pulse, your experiences with energy, vibrations, and AP practice development. I appreciate you sharing your journey because I learn so much from everyone here.

I'm intrigued by your encounter with the Chinese dragon and your glimpse into an ancestral practice you'd never read about before. It makes me wonder if these subconscious downloads are connected to past or simultaneous lives where we explored similar practices.

During a recent meditation, I was guided through what felt like an Egyptian museum (or maybe the inside of a tomb) where I saw golden mummies, obelisks, statues, ancient inscriptions, cats, deities, and a huge Anubis statue. I also saw many other things I couldn't identify. While I've always been fascinated by ancient civilizations, I'm no expert, and it's not something I've explored recently. Similarly, I've seen Mayan and Aztec ruins with ancient hieroglyphs and mysterious writings. It seems we share a similar experience, and I'm curious about the reason behind it. The only explanation I can think of is that we may have had connections to these cultures in our "past lives" - and I put that in quotes because in the realm of pure consciousness, time doesn't exist.

As a child, I had some out-of-body experiences and lucid dreams. At the time, I hadn't read any books or seen documentaries about these topics, nor had I discussed them with anyone. Yet, I was intuitively drawn to practices that I later found described in books. It seems our subconscious gifts us with these downloads, possibly from past lives, to help us navigate our current journey without starting from scratch.

Keep up the great work!

Dear Tak,

Thank you for your kind words! I'm not sure if I haven't been "spamming" the forums with all my recent posts!

I agree with your thoughts about "past lives". Egypt and Mayan/Aztec. Hmmm, are you by any chance familiar with the Ra Material (also known as the Law of One - Egypt) or with Quetzalcoatl channelings (Mayan/Aztec)?

Curiously for me, the Chinese aspect appeared for me in some other APs. Now it seems to form a pattern.

I have tried to apply the thumbs for the first time yesterday in my pre-sleep meditation, even though I was tired. I didn't expect much at all. But what do you know, I had an AP and I remembered it all the way until the morning! So there might be something to it  :-)

I'm posting my diary entry below.

"Sat 7.8.24
6:30am memory of pre-sleep AP

I'm tired from my business trip and prime straight away on my right side (normally, I start on my back and after I feel I'm ready, I turn to my side). I briefly experiment with pressing my thumbs gently into the eye sockets. The pressure remains for unexpectedly long time even after removing my thumbs. I focus on the top of the crown.
Blissful vibrations come and I breathe into them. In the root it feels almost orgasmic (I try not to orgasm  ) and in the crown not so pleasant. I breathe repeatedly into the vibrations for experimentation purposes while my husband comes into the bedroom and I ignore him to focus on the meditation :-D
Some visions, some lucid dreams, some dreams. (For a pity, I don't recall those.)"

I'm glad to have remembered this much. I always meditate (towards APs/OBEs) before sleep but this was the first time, I remembered an actual experience from such a meditation. Perhaps it happened in the past and I forgot. I certainly see the danger of the pre-sleep sessions. I'm going to experiment with the thumbs more  :-)

As I remember from my naturopathy as well as medical anatomy / physiology studies, and thus from a more physiological viewpoint the soft eye pressing on the closed eyes helps to activate the Vagus nerve which is part of the Parasympathetic nervous system, which regulates the mode 'rest and digest', as opposed to the mode 'fight and flight' of the Sympathetic nervous system that 'activates' the body.
It makes you more calm and relaxed and so it could indeed also deepen meditation and trance work.

Thank you, Volgerle,

this is an interesting piece of the puzzle! The physiological viewpoint is fitting with the Shambhavi Mudra that the AI gave me info about. Although, when I read the links the AI gave me, the webpages don't mention the thumbs pressing into the eye socket upper inner points so I don't know where the AI was taking the info from

I have also found the BL-2 acupuncture pressure point where I think my AP was showing me but there the effects are mostly eye/headache-medicine related. What a mystery :)

Thank you for that information! My body is in constant fight-or-flight mode and I have been wondering why I'm drawn to pressing on my eyelids. Do you practice acupuncture? (Just curious). I find it helps with stress relief and with my myofascia pain as I have a ton of trigger points.

I love learning about the pressure points so I thank you from the heart -- and will experiment with more of this one to see if it helps me. I appreciate the info, I'll try anything for some relief.
