about 2 days ago i was in sleep paralysis and when i realized it i was so excited because i knew that was the perfect time to Astral Project. So i tried the roll out method 3 times and it worked!!! however....the first roll out, i tried to open my eyes and wound up opening my physical eyes and was back in my physical body and it happened the same way(out of body, blind, try to see with AP eyes but opened physical eyes) for the other two times, then on the third try when i opened my eyes i also opened my awarness back to my physical body and woke up out of sleep paralysis. what just happened?

Hi eone, as soon as you know you are out-of-body then dont think of opening your eyes just walk or float away from your body, dont think about your body and you should see the door, walk through it. It may be dark or low light, so dive up through the roof and you will be in the Astral. If you cant move or float or fly it means you have low 'energy' so you need more meditation. Do some deep breathing also and try again.
Good luck, djed  :-)

Yes, agree, don't wait till you can see, just fly out through where you would guess is the closest window ASAP.

Also, as far as going up through the roof, I've had years of difficulty going that way and sometimes get stuck in the rafters (probably a mental block but I've heard similar experiences from other people) so head for a window or door and if you have difficulty getting through, put your hand forward superman style which seems to help.

Not knowing the experience of people, I say 'roof' just in case they are not OOB and dive through the window! lol; but if they have exited or phased then they will at least lift up away from the body even if they dont reach the roof. I have often lifted through the roof, noticing the angle of roof to the ceiling.
Its just like floating through the wall. It happened accidently first and I liked it so kept doing it. It was the transition from etheric state to astral.
Cheers djed  :-D

Ha, I never thought of someone accidentally taking their physical body through a window, good point.

I still feel a slight resistance when I go through walls/roofs even after years of doing this so it's probably just mental; there's a theory that we generate some mass when we're in the astral body so there could be some other reason for this.

To his original question about opening your eyes and waking up, this morning I was having trouble seeing so I opened my astral eyes slowly and didn't wake up. Interesting that sometimes I lapse back to old patterns (though thankfully I don't hear sounds/clanking/voices anymore).

Boom

Hi, from my limited experience (but with a very objective overview). I have found that there is definately some difference between Astral Projection and a Dream.   With an Astral Projection I first of all felt a lot of motion in order to enter it. Plus I also found myself being there in the moment. in the sense that I was conciously aware what was going on. I could still talk to myself with my inner minds voice.  With a dream, it just happens. I wasnt particularly aware what I was doing, or any decisions that happened in the dream.

I have not yet prooved to myself, that my conciousness seperated from my physical body. But what I have managed to do is tap into something bigger and more involved than a regular dream.  Whether it was a full on Astral Projection or a Lucid Dream, I do not know.

Unfortunately its very very slow progress because its rare I seem to have the ability to actually do it. In the few months I've been into this stuff, I've managed only two experiences which I could label as an Astral Projection.

If I can keep my interest and motivation on this up, then give me about 10 -  20 years and hopefully i might have a few more answers!!

Hi Boom, it's good to explore different types of techniques and meditations to find out what works best for you, as we are all different. If you are keen and dont leave it alone it wont take 20 years, I promise you. lol  :-D
All the best djed  :-)

Don't try opening your eyes. I've had times that I couldn't see either. Just be patient. Vision in the astral should come without effort
