Hi,
I have had two fully conscious projections now and it has taken me four years of persistence to do this so I am rapt!! however I do not understand what is happening. I have been through the stages of getting out of the body that others seem to go through i.e. the vibrations etc and found myself floating in my bedroom but on both occasions I have gone through the bedroom wall only to find myself in a completely differenct location that I do not recognise at all.  Both times I have been in a garden with children's toys around. They were different gardens each time.  I feel I am fully conscious each time and am telling myself to make a mental note of everything so I can remember afterwards, which I do very accurately. Why am I going to places I do not know and why when I exit my bedroom am I transported from my house to a location unknown to me, when I have clearly thought and desired to go to my sister's place?
Please does any one have an answer/explanation.  Thanks, Rachael.

I'm not certain why you are going to these places, but I would think something in your subconscious wants you to be there. I would say next time to maybe try and find a guide or someone to help you. There was a good thread on this, though I'm not sure where it is, it basically says to sort of think how nice it would be for someone in the astral to meet you halfway, to sort of lend you a helping hand and show you around. I've been told to do this sort of hopeful thinking and soon you'll feel as if someone is watching you. And they'll present themselves carefully so as to no startle you. I'm sorry if this isn't as helpful as you'd hope, but I believe any AP/OBE can be turned into something interesting and amazing. I feel like even though you are taken to this spot, you can make something amazing out of it. Best of luck to you!

I'm not very experienced in the actual projections but I remember reding something about it in a book I am reading now. The author doesn't explain why it happens, only that he experiences it a lot. Like he goes out through his window on the ground floor and when he emergs he is on the other side of the house, one level up! :) haha..

It's not the physical world, it's the astral perception of the physical world.. so while many things will be the same, there is a high likelihood that many changes may occur.. and as the previous reply suggests it may be that your inner self or guiding soul may wish you to go there. As the previous reply suggests, seek for some guidance while out of your body as I have read this helps for things like that.. though you may still not actually go to where you are wanting to go but instead learn from it.. that is, learn what your guide/guides are wanting you to learn.

I have had a similar experience many many years ago after a sleep paralysis event. I had read that trying to roll over during sleep paralysis can get you out of body. I did just that, and headed out of the door of my house and then was flying through some incredible green coloured landscapes with loads of other bright colours. was really amazing. I then lost lucidity and it turned into a dream before I woke up.   This was before I had even heard of Astral Projection.

Does this garden feel familiar when you go there? Like you know it really well?  I find myself astral projecting and dreaming to my parents house, where I grew up in.  I seem to home to it all the time.  Sometimes when im starting to fall asleep I can feel like im there and imagine the bedroom which I grew up in extremely vividly around me.   I obviously have a quite a connection to that house!

Another thing I just thought of.. you could in fact be experiencing a "fake" dreamlike thing.. so to be sure that you are really where your awareness says you are, you can declare that you "Want to see properly" or something like that. Just like if you were calling/asking for assistance, force yourself to see the reality by decalring your desire to see it.

Are there any guided tapes for astral travel? I see myself in gardens, library, on a vibrant beach, by waterfalls, in the water, falling tunnels, I don't think I'm making it up but the subconscious mind must be very complex to know exactly what you are doing or where you are.

I did not read what everyone else said, so forgive me if I repeat what someone else said.
When you first exit you usually 'land' in your surroundings- what is known as the etheric, or Real Time Zone.  But for some reason, sometimes when you go through a wall or a window or a door (consider them 'gateways') you end up in a different 'nonearthly' plane, known as the astral plane.  This is a collective area of group consciousness that may look like 'reality' (after all, we all experience material reality) but is not necessarily representative of a specific place in spacetime.)  Some people tend to linger in the RTZ longer than others, some go to the Astral Plane right away.
If you had no problem getting out the first time, chances are that you have been projecting spontaneously for a long time and don't retain the memory, or, that you have learned the lessons usually associated with the etheric via dreamtime, and are ready to keep going.
Of course this is speculation, since I don't know you.   :-)
