Title: Astral Question
Post by: BobbySleez on June 15, 2011, 10:14:08
So i am just going to cut to the chase.  I was laying on my side and wasnt really trying to induce an OBE.  I never noticed the vibrational stage.  However, as i would feel myself drift off to sleep I heard rushing or wooshing of air so to speak in my head. It startled me at first so after a second or two i came back to and the sound went away immediately.  I never moved despite of my startle.  As i felt myself drift off to sleep again the noise came back and I let it ride out this time.  I began to feel the sensation of being as light as air.  I decided to try and seperate at this time.  I concentrated on my upper boddy first and slowly felt my head and torso float upward as if i was standing up.  At this time my vision was blurry and distorted. All i could see was my bedroom wall across from me and mainly my bedroom door.  I slowly continued to float upward to where i basically rotated to where i was in the standing position.  the whole time i was trying to seperate i felt sluggish and wobbily almost.  I also sort of felt like i had to strain a little to get out of my physical body. once i felt as if i was standing i tried to walk towards my door.  I could never make it.  It felt as if i was tredding through water or maybe a thicker liquid than that. I felt the sensation of my legs walking but could not escape the wraps of my bed.  it maybe lasted 30 seconds or so.  I ended up snapping back into my body and immediatley recolecting what had just happened.  I guess im asking why no vibrational state? did i just not notice it? Did i try to seperate too early? I loved the experience despite the lack of exciting events.  It was amazing to actually make some progress.  Thanks for the time

Welcome to the Astral Pulse Bobby.
I split your question out into it's own thread.
And I deleted your other post because it was a duplicate of this one.  Try not to double-post like that in the future please.  :)

As for your question... not everyone will experience vibrations.  I never do.
And obviously, from reading your post, you managed to project just fine.

Vibrations aren't required to project, ever.  :)

thanks for the reply guys.  Sorry for the duplicate post its my first forum and i was trying to pick the thread with the latest post to get a quick response.  I read somewhere that you are supposed to wait for the wooshing sound to go away before you try and seperate.. is this true? should I have waited a little longer to try and seperate?

Vibrations can be a good indication of when to separate but you don't really have to wait around for something that you might not always experience. Like anything, you will hear a lot of myths. Find things out for yourself as others claim to have done.

Hi Bobby.
Most signposts that we use to know when we've changed focus (or become nonlocal) tend to happen in differing parts of the process, so none of those rules is written in stone.
For example, instead of telling you 'how it should be' I'll tell how it was for me-
When I started projecting consciously I usually would get heavy loud vibrations and sounds- and I would start an exit tech and be out in a jiffy.  Then when I got some practice, the vibes came earlier in the trance and now I had to wait for sounds and sometimes images to get out- and then with even more experience the vibes stopped happening, and the noises/voices started too early in trance, and I had to rely on what I saw and how I felt (mentally) to know I was ready to exit.
Now, I get almost no symptoms, except seeing through my eyelids or seeing pictures, (the noises and voices come too early in trance so I just ignore them)  and I just exit when it feels right, or I can see what's happening around me.
So you see, there is no 'absolutely right' time to exit, but you can start with symptoms and go from there- whatever your symptoms might be.  Just don't stop when the symptoms stop, because it doesn't mean the window was lost.

Hi,
Generally there will be a group of subtle changes. The most obvious is your intent to get out. The vibes for some or sounds and images for others. You will hopefully remember your phases until you open the door and then you'll have your own personal experience in memory. You can be at the door and not know it until your intent on getting out opens it for you. The intent or focus is the last thing and the first thing you need, the rest is your personal experience. There are lots of similarities if you read the many posts here but they all say this. Stay focused on your objective.  The rest is a side show in getting there and its that simple.
When you finally get out you will see how close you actually got. The intent is the key, keeping it and staying aware with all the things happening within you takes a bit of getting use to.
The morning is probably the best time to try as more get sucess this way.
Enjoy the experience.
