At what level of sleep is the easiest to leave your body? Alpha? Beta? Theta?

Hi everyone. How are you? I want to stress that I haven't looked down at my body yet!

Is it true that a person can leave his/her body at the border between awake and asleep? Can you be at the border while watching TV? What is it like when you are at the border? Can you be at the border while reading a book? Or perhaps, you must lay still on your back on your bed and be a little sleepy to be at the border?

Please be advised to tell me your simple answer, as you would to a high school graduate. LOL.

Okay we'll keep it simple kiddo. Tell me what you think those levels mean.

Well I never really took note as to which "level" I was at while leaving my body.
Or more like I never used names to describe them.
But you can AP as soon as your body and mind is asleep and your conscience is awake.
When you feel like you can leave your body is the right level.
The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight; the empty,
full; the worn out, new. He whose (desires) are few gets them; he
whose (desires) are many goes astray.

Try reading some of the pertinent Stickies in the first and third Forums.

The key lies somewhere in having your physical body rested just enough that it can still fall asleep, yet the "drag" of the physical body is not so much that it drags down the consciousness with it. Middle of the night wake-ups, early morning wake-ups, middle of the day naps are all good examples of this.

Look for this situation, set your intent to project and then calmly observe the process.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Hovering around the Theta-Delta border. Delta is usually too deep and doesn't involve much of the conscious mind. I haven't seen research on it (not that it doesn't exist), but I am fairly sure a projector will look mostly theta-ish in brain frequencies. Theta is where dreams happen, and a person's brain in a projection state is in a similar gear.

Yes, but far from an ideal method to attempt to reach the state on your own. It would have happened by accident, due to exhaustion, which is also not conducive to projections.

QuoteCan you be at the border while reading a book?

Yes, but same answer applies here. I don't know of anyone here who can do it in that circumstance, and I know for me it would be impossible.

It's all about changing your vibration, it's true that we all emit vibrations, even gamma brain waves emit between 32 and 38hz.
Once you are clear of your mind it's like if you had another vibration (your spirit vibration).
I think the lower you go like binaural beats will often let you connect faster because they can use earth vibration at like  2hz.
It gives you awareness.

Sit or lie so you can't fall and aim for alpha.
You'll not notice the body and anything phtsical world related will seemingly be there but not make sense.
You could hear speech but it won't mean anything.
Its the exact same state of mind you have when reading a book and become part of the storyline. You are effectively in the presented scene.
At this point you'd be daydreaming and the book would fall if you were holding it.
Get to this point and you can project on demand.
:-D
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I also feel very small before projecting, I know my physical arms are there but it feels as if my astral body was much smaller inside.
You may feel small as you think about the world around you, also because it's so big you really get the idea how vast the universe is and how small you can be! then usually your body goes to sleep and you can project.

I think you need to go over your terminology before a good discussion. I don't think you understand what the different wavelength mean. You can project from a moderately deep trance. You must be able to control the trance first then you can phase into whatever you want to. The body asleep in my case means I cannot feel it and it has a sensation that like when a limb goes to sleep it's like it's a piece of wood.

Here are a couple reference articles. The brainwaves are identified on a test called an EEG. The levels are not totally distinct in reality but mixing occurs depending on what  is going on.

and a second article that gives a little bit better explanation but you might find it a little difficult to understand.

EEG's have not been done consistently with astral projection the studies are too scarce to really pin down exactly what is going on.  But this at least will give you an idea as to what it means and what the definitions are.

Kzaal

lol I did that for a study once... they gave me 100$.
That hat they put on your head sucks tho they put some petroleum jelly on all the contacts and after that your hair feel disgusting lol.
The graphics made by the waves are awesome tho, they are never really the same.

No see that's the difficulty here. Your never going to be in a " pure " state. Now practically speaking for projection I don't think there's a solid answer for that. Meditation with the object of going deeper within is the best method with the most control in my opnion. It takes longer but has better and more consistent results. The closer you are to God the better the results. Edgar Cayce stated this in one of his readings on psychic ability the ultimate source of knowledge and gifts is the spirit of God ( this is however you see him/her)  By going deeper within your getting closer to that source and to the skills your looking for. Don't worry with the states it's not relevent and when your focused you cannot be thinking about them.
