differentiating focus levels

I'm pretty clueless in the astral plane and in particular, the different focus levels.  I've noticed a few places that I seem to have frequented before.  I've been trying to figure out if I've ever been in Focus 12 (Monroe terminology).  My trips seem to follow a pattern most of the time.  Begins with the swirly effect, and I usually see alot of dark and foreboding images at this point.  From there things usually brighten up a bit with alot of animated/cartoonish imagery --- all the while, I'm flying --- but never doing the driving... I seem to be cradled in someones arms (that I can't see), flying about and my stomach jumping all over the place.  Then I know of several instances where I'm always in "outer space" and a galaxy off in the distance.  From there I've gone whizzing through various tunnels and ending up in a variety of different places.  But everything up until the latter, seems to follow that pattern on more than one occasion.
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone else... any of these places or events?

I don't think about the Focus levels anymore. It sounds like you are experiencing the true Astral. The Focus levels were great to read about when I first was learning. They helped me understand where I was and how I was progressing, but now they are just labels. You are already there!
Congratulations and Safe Travels!  :-)

Monroe's Focus levels are interesting to read about but they're a bit vague and hard to relate to. I would read up on Kepple's Focus levels as a beginner. They are Monroe's Focus levels simplified, but they're still just interpretation. I myself use three levels... etheric, astral, and beyond. Others just bunch it all up as the non-physical.

Yeah, I agree... they're a great beginners tool, and I also suggest focusing upon Franks model.

But in the end, you'll eventually ditch the model in favour of your own personal model based upon your own personal experiences.

For myself I further simplify experiences as either taking place "here" (physical) or "not here" (non-physical).

Just curious, how many of the people who have been having OBE's/Phasing can direct their journey's? As in being able to project exactly where you expect to and how long has it taken you to be able to do this? Sometime I feel like I am getting pretty good at it, but then I'll go into a Flitting Period where there is absolutely no control at all. It has taken me 10 months of intense practice to make it to this point. I can now Phase in any where from 10-15 mins, but not always as directed as I wish. Sometimes I just like to put the log away and just travel for fun. Experience new things etc.

CFTraveler

I'm not sure what you mean by 'directing their journey'.

"directing their journey":  I would assume picking a destination of your desire while "traveling"... but, that's not my post so I can't say for sure

thanks for the replies folks... they're always helpful.
the reason I'd posted this question was after reading an excerpt from an article on phasing that states;  "creating your own reality, is something that can be done while in Focus 12."
I definitely wanted to know where that's at, so I could get to makin' some changes in my life

Experiment with that then.  :)

When in Focus 12, start placing your Intent and visualizing.  Try for a few weeks and see what happens.

CFTraveler

I imagine rundowns would be helpful with that- Ryan would know more about that, I think.

Lionheart

Yes "directing your journeys" was meant to being going to your chosen destination with success.

Thanks Ryan, I'll do that.  I think I already started (stating my intent) the last time I was out (a few days ago), but I didn't visualize --- well I did see these 3 girls standing off in the distance of some mall-like building --- that seems to be where I ended up when I stated my intent;  I ended up walking over to them and tried striking up a conversation.  So, I got a bit distracted from my true intent... will definitely remember that next time.
What's a "rundown" BTW?  Someone mentioned that in the post right after yours.

Any terms, like the FoC or Focus ones, used are purely for describing to other people the experience you are having in order to communicate in the same language. It's good to have these terms because without them there is likely to be a lot of misunderstandings. Like for me, I am stuck flipping back and forth between Focus 10 and 12 most of the time.. so does that mean I am in Focus 11..? hehe.. maybe.. maybe not.. but I don't think it's all that important.. but by saying that I keep flipping back and forth between Focus 10 and 12, people know what I am talking about and can offer suggestions that would be different than if I said I was stuck in Focus 3, for example. :)
