Title: Black spiders?
Post by: Zante on October 09, 2005, 07:46:35
Having seen a few just before projection and then having searched on this forum afterwards, it seems alot of people have seen something best described as a big black spider.

They are about 20cm across and rather static, I've never seen them move. The only "animation" involved is during the time they fade out if the vibrations stop and the exit fails. This is my experience with them.

Interestingly enough, the way they fade out reminds me of how a cloud loses it's shape and dissipates, except into a black mist.

I don't deal in good and evil and I have no phobia of spiders. It's just that during sleep paralysis it's very hard to tear my eyes away from it, if you know what I mean.

Yes, I have defenses set up, more than you could know. No, I don't believe I'm creating it. No, it doesn't frighten me but if I ever saw it move then it might.

Let's talk about this, it seems "real" enough to me in the sense that it's experienced by many people. Astral wild-life, any speculations?

With the influx of new energy in the world these days some interesting things are happening.

Note: I sometimes keep my eyes open during the exit sensations and that's when they're most visible, along with the binocular zooming in - zooming out type effect. If anyone relates please reply.

I've thought about this one a lot, since I used to see a lot of them. I haven't since moving into a new apartment. I don't know if that's a coincidence or what.

Anyway, one idea is this: everyone has blind spots in their physical vision that the brain makes up for, filling in the spots. It's possible that on waking, these black spots are interpreted by the brain as spiders, or insects of some kind - black spots moving across the wall, makes sense to interpret it that way, doesn't it?

Of course, that's just one explanation. It would be interesting to do a test, see if they are more common in older buildings, etc.

The idea of the brain creating a placeholder for something it can't quite interpret correctly/comprehend does seem possible, if not likely.

As for whether or not it's a blind spot, I'm not entirely convinced just yet.

It would be nice to collect some more information on this. Anyone, if you've had similar experiences please respond.

Thanks for the reply mactombs : p
