I am fairly new to astral projection. I have made it to the vibrational stage several times, though haven't gone further yet. Whenever I stop practicing and start moving around more, my physical body feels like I have "sea-legs" or "sea-body" really. I just feel like my whole body is light and in motion and my head feels dizzy. Is this normal and what is the cause of this? Is the astral body moving around?

Hi lotuspaper, to me it sounds like you need some grounding. It may be that being new to astral projection makes you a bit nervous or tense, and that that's what's causing the lightheadedness and dizzyness. I don't know what exercises you are doing when you practice AP, but usually you shouldn't feel like this, although I have heard from a few people that they had the same. I always use the following exercise myself (although a bit different)if I need it, and it's also good for people who experience derealization, they are usually not grounded enough.

Quote1.    Stand firmly with your feet flat on the floor, shoulder width apart, knee slightly bent.

2.    Relax and breathe, be aware of your foot on the floor and your leg holding you up.

3.    Be aware of your feet. Imagine that your feet are sinking through the floor into the earth below. Plant your feet in the earth.

4.    Imagine that you are a tree, growing roots down into the earth from your foot. Let the roots sink deep into the earth, through the layers of soil and rock, into the hot, vibrant, molten centre, and into the heart of the earth.

I know Xanth has an exercise like this somewhere on a website, but I couldn't find it so perhaps he will give the link to you if he reads this.

I hope this helps.  :-)

Thank you I will try it. The only technique I've been doing is laying on my back, taking deep breaths and relaxing every muscle until my body goes numb, usually I will then start to feel vibrations but then somehow stay in. I think it's because my higher self knows I need to practice before the full take off. But after I give up and just want to sleep, I will feel this sensation.

I also got a tip that if you exercise daily it will ground you more as you are working more with your physical body.

Thanks for your reply.

I think this is the one that Timandra is talking about: http://unlimitedboundaries.ca/2010/08/31/what-is-grounding-and-centering-yourself/

:)

But yeah, I agree with her 100%... sounds like you just need to learn to ground yourself.

Yes, that's the one. Thank you Xanth.  :-)

Thank you both for the information. I also figured out the other factor to me feeling this way. I took a little vacation from work and was not very active during those days so laying in bed a lot plus deep relaxing astral practice led to my body feeling overwhelmed with too much inactivity.anyway I did the grounding techniques and am feeling better.
