My english is still far from perfect, so forgive me for any gramatical errors that I might make. I have to admit, I am a skeptic when it comes to OOBEs, but I want to give it a shot and see for myself wether or not it is real.

So far I've had two experiences that definetly were either OOBEs or some kind of dreams/hallucinations. I would be really grateful if someone could give me some feedback about that.

Before my first experience I heard loud, nearly painful buzzing in my ears. When I got out, I felt myself laying on my bed but at the same time floating above it, but that feeling passed away quickly. I couldn't see, but I've read about that issue, so I just said to myself "Open your eyes!" and it worked. I found myself floating in another room, unable to land down, but eventually I landed using the same method as with opening my eyes. That's when the experience ended, I probably fell asleep at that point.

Second experience I've had was more under conttrol, it lasted much longer and ended when I wanted it to end. Although, I am fairly certain it was just a lucid drem. This time I also heard a loud buzzing noise except i kept hearing it occassionally for a few seconds during the experience. This time I paid more attention to the surroundings. My room looked a little bit different than it really looks. There were some furniture that aren't in the room, as well as well as some other items like alarm clocks etc. Also, my bed was empty, I didn't see myself laying there. I didn't check my room during my first experience though. I alsto tried to wake my mother, who was sleeping in anither room up, unsuccessfully. She mentioned something about having a weird dream the next day, though that was probably just a coincidence.

During both experiences it looked like it was day, even though they happened in the middle of the night. My body also looked normal, while many people who projected said that their body looked slightly different and was transparent. There was no sign of silver coord being attached to my body.

Wether or not these experiences were lucid dreams and not OOBEs, I am still willing to give it a shot, maybe I was just unlucky. Although I would be really grateful if someone could comment on that. Thank you in advance!

They are one in the same, at least they lead to the same place. Here is map from a gentleman here named Contenteo, whom is right on target. http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h438/Robert_Carbone/Contenteos2011ConceptualFramework.jog
Good Luck  :-)

Dreams, OBEs and Astral Projections are all experiences in nonphysical reality.
Most OBEs happen in the real time zone and an exit is experienced.  Sometimes you can become conscious after the exit (or it is very fast) but your conscious awareness 'is all there'.  The RTZ is the closest to the physical.
Most dreams and AP happen in the astral.  Regular dreams usually happen in subjective regions of the astral, while lucidity usually brings you from the subconscious to the collective areas of the astral.
Yes, they're all projections, but not experienced the same way.

Thank you for responses! I guess all I have to do is to increase my lucidity in dreams and see what I can do from there. I'm gonna keep trying.

Also, thank you for the useful map Lionheart, but it seems you mistyped the url. Here is the correct url in case someone stumbles upon this topic and wants to take a look at it:

Very well put.  :)
