It sounds to me like either a lucid dream, or just a dream you remember well.  However, if you can keep working with your dreams in this manner you can use them to launch into a bona-fide OBE - - - - so don't be frustrated, because you're progressing!  Keep it up . . .

Hello,

How close to reality did your house look? How realistic did the lighting in your house look? It's very common to have reality fluctuations, especially at first.

Sometimes it's your mind doing it, sometimes it's from leftover mental impressions that remain in the astral. I had the exact same clock experience very recently.

It's very easy to mix up LD's, OBE's and AP's at first. I scoffed off my first experience as dream for 7 years! In fact, a lot of experiences are mix of the three. As you progress, you will be able to sort out the experiences a lot better.

Take care,

I want to take this moment to (rather hastily) emphasise that calling an experience a "dream" does not diminish it in any way - - - - although those of us working so hard at OBE can feel that way sometimes.  Dreams are "real" in their own way.  It's all real . . . and it's all a dream . . .

Patty described this pretty well in a recent post:  Consciousness resides on a sort of continuum, with OBE and lucid dreams being real close to one another.  In fact, your "dream" or "OBE" experience may have contained elements of both.  The only way I know I've had an OBE is by the "feeling," since I've had multiple OBEs . . . they're kind of like dreams, with certain exceptions:

- unmistakable exit and reentry sensations (I usually feel one or the other, rarely both)
- I feel just like I'm awake - - I mean EXACTLY as awake as I am now;
- When in my room in total darkness, there is a grey cast to the room, as though some unknown light source is allowing me to see better!

So, nowadays I can induce an OBE by calling on that "feeling" when I'm in a lucid dream.  I encourage you to try it . . .  next time you are lucid in a dream, WILL AN OBE and see what happens!  If your personal Will is not fully developed, ask an astral being for help . . . and see who shows up!

best of luck,

Tisha

Hi LapsiLap [:)]
I am new to this forum but have had several projections. It is quite common for people to be confused and excited during their first out of body experience. That is the bad news. The good news is that from your description it obviously appears that you did have a conscious out of body experience. You were probably in the Real Time Zone which is called the ethereal or etheric plane by people in other forums. The confusion and distractions that you experienced are to be expected but will cause fewer problems during future projections. In any event congratulations on a first projection and good luck in the future. [:)][;)][^]

I have never had OBE before.
This morning I was in trance and tried to project. I just pulled myself up from bed. My physical body was constantly draging me backwards so I tried to put a finger through a wall (it worked http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>) before it was too late.
But the further away from the physical body I got the easier everything became.
I tried to walk, first it was pretty hard but became easier and easier. Even the sight got better.
Then I was in the dinning room. I decided to fly. I just jumped up... and fell down (???), then I tried again and thought that I flied all the time, this time it worked but when I was almost at the ceiling I got a bit afraid of hitting my head on the ceiling http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0> so I just fell down again and didn't care about flying anymore.. instead I decided to go outside my house.
But then I saw my brother playing computer and I saw a clock, it was 16:00. I memorized the clock because I wanted to see if it really was 16:00 in real.
Then I woke up
The thing is..., my brother has no computer at this moment and it was as I said, in the morning this happened. So it was all wrong.
My conciousness wasn't at 100% because this is the first time having an OBE (?). Maybe that's why the enviroment was so affected by my mind or something? Or was it just a clear, lucid dream I've experienced? Well it couldn't be some kind of time travel can it?

Oh ..just read about something called "Alice".. I guess that's what I experienced =/
