Yes it sounds like an OOBE.

You don't look into mirrors because you wind up in an alternate Astral place, that isn't the real time zone.  It's one of the reasons some religions cover mirrors in the home of someone that has died, so the spirit doesn't get trapped before it passes on.  Mirrors can't harm a living person, you will wake normally anyway.

My bro told me this today,  since we were discussing our dreams.  Which we usually do when we're bored. []

This is what he said:
One night, I just had my eyes closed.  And I just opened my eyes, so I stood up.  And I realized that I was floating!  It was hard to see since it was a bit cloudy.  I was just flying around the house.  I went to the next door neighbors house and jumped into the pool.  It was soo cool!  I had total control!!  What an awesome dream.  

I didn't know what to think of it at first... whether my bro had a dream or not.  But whatever it was.. lucky him xD  If you need to know more in order to know if it was an OOBE or not.. I'll go ask my bro.  And one more question...
I heard that you shouldn't look in the mirror when you're in Astral... Why is that??
