Were these experiences a sign, or red herrings?

Hello everyone.

I've been reading into astral projection since the age of about 14. I first discovered the term after learning about lucid dreaming, but never  tried it until I got the hang of dream control. Anyway, the attempts of mine have been fruitless due to not really understanding how to project, or fear of projecting.

However, there are two accounts I would very much like the forum to review and comment for me please!

The first "odd" account happened at the age of around 16 when I had a dream which, eventually turned Lucid. I remembered (in my dream) reading about how APing can be induced through Lucid dreams, so I gave it a go. I remember walking about (no route in mind) willing myself to astral project. I walked up to a few DC(dream characters) and asked, "How do I astral project?"

Now something really strange and out of the ordinary happened (for a dream anyway). I was in a park and as I approached this group a young girl ( maybe around 13 or so) turned to me and asked, "Do you really want to astral travel?" I was quite surprised by the sudden question since dream characters usually speak utter nonsense or are just background. I refocused and replied, "Well yes."  She smiled sweetly and touched me.

Suddenly, I began vibrating like mad! The whole landscape disappeared as though sucked into a black void and darkness surrounded me. I felt like electricity was pumping through my body, my heartrate soared out of control. I was remember falling deeper and deeper into this dark pit. The whole experience was so frightening I woke up. I could still feel tingling.

The second experience is more recent (2 days ago). I decided to retake up APing and began my meditation. I was listening to a binaural beat to help me relax. I'm not sure how much time had passed, but I remember that I began to feel very light. I felt like my hands were floating and I felt a little dizzy. Suddenly, my heartrate began to beat rapidly and I felt a strong pull coming from somewhere. But again, out of fear, I opened my eyes and everything ended. I looked at how long I'd been listening to the binaural beats for, out of the 20 minutes or so, 17 minutes had passed.

So what do you guys think?

I mean are those two perfectly acceptable ways to AP? I hear about a lot of methods and it really confuses me :?

Was I really close, or was it just my *gulp* imagination?

100% perfectly acceptable.  I don't believe there is an 'unacceptable' way of projecting.  If your consciousness is somewhere that isn't *here* (here being this physical reality) then you're projecting.  :)

Awesome :-D

What are your views on the accounts?

They're normal Astral Projection accounts.  :)
Definitely.

Keep up the good work!

While browsing through the site I remembered some other experiences too!

I used to Lucid dream a lot using a the WILD technique. This bascially underpins the whole, "get into the SP mode" since the WILD relies on that to enter a Lucid dream with 100% awareness.  I understand the whole "vibration thing" since I've felt it all doing this. But there have been some odd accounts which I'm not sure to stamp as Lucid dreams.

I remember doing the WILD technique and the affects of sleep paralysis consuming my body. I remember all of the tactile sensations including vibrations, body feeling heavy and numb. But ALSO, there was another sensation that is rather hard to explain, but I will try. Whenever, the vibrations begin to cease I feel like a lasp in consciousness has been "switched" between this world and the dream world. However, I now have reason to doubt that this was the dream world  :?

Upon opening my eyes, SOMETIMES my room looked the exact same and dark (I attempt to WILD at 3am). If not, there were a few minor changes like a desk not in the right place, or different coloured walls. Also, (this is the thing I most wish to query), upon trying to get out of bed when the tactile sensations ceased, I felt like I weighted A TON!!! - Literally I had to crawl out of bed and struggled to stand up. This never used to happen the first or second time I did this tecnique. Was this AP or not? I never really looked to my bed to check if my body was actually there  :-P

Also, on a rather unsatisfactory note, (again sometimes) used to be "something" in my room whenever I did this. Some shawdory like entity. I felt no fear and such and used to mentally force it away. This bit makes me wonder if it was more a Lucid dream or not?

Another thing, if you are attacked, what do you feel? I only used to feel vibration where ever I was hit. Too much would cause me to wake up. Anyway, this post was longer than expected. I have some more questions, but first I would like these sorted out. Thanks!

Your first experience was almost exactly like mine! it was thrilling to read it. I had a character that asked me where I wanted to go. It had been a dream before. But i entered this tunnel like thing appeared and he came floating from inside of it. He told me to step in. It was pure darkness with a light at the end. I felt like I was traveling 1000mph to the light. When I reached the light I was in my room, floating straight through walls until I was outside. The voice asked me where I wanted to go in the astral. He guided me around before I got scared and wished to wake up. Lucid dreams can turn into projections if you go through the right steps.

YOU mean I was close to astral projecting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>.<

Could that have been my guide maybe?

Yeah it felt like i was travelling at 1000mph too!
