Excellent dream!  Without consciousness to give them meaning, words are meaningless.  Symbol and meaning are entirely seperate.   That, BTW, is the hidden meaning of my nick.

The reason I have been a bit (read a lot) concerned lately is over symbols.  The object I purchased was a symbol and I was surprised to feel power from it.  I think I am on a learning curve here, my subconscious (or higher self?) obviously is trying to teach me something, but my conscious, logical mind wants answers! In words!  I am slowly learning that is not how I'm going to get them!  Ah... baby steps... []

Fascinating!

Paradoxically, there is power in symbols - but I do not believe it is 'in' the symbol itself, but rather as a focus for our own power.  This is also the power in certain words.

Sounds, however, do have innate power in themselves, as manifest physical vibrations in the universe.  Some objects may also have power, because of the resonant geometry of their physical structure, but that I really know very little about.

It is a very complex and fascinating subject!

Since practicing NEW around a month ago, I was given a symbol which I saw all around me over a long drive.  After that I was drawn to purchase an object which seemed to balance & focus my energy.  I also learned that I am able to manipulate energy to a certain extent, which scared me a little.  Without going into this aspect, all I want to say about it for now is that I have been questioning things a lot and looking for answers which only my higher self can answer.  So, I have been pondering how to get in touch with my higher self (I still have an overactive brain that I find hard to switch off, and find it difficult to meditate without my mind wandering).  

This morning, just before I woke up, I remembered a dream I'd been having.  This dream was to do with being in some sort of physical competition which we (whoever I was with) either lost or got no chance to complete.  I was on a train with a man who was in this competition or tournament, and he was distressed as his boss (or someone he had to answer to) would be angry with him.  He communicated this to me by telephathically sending me a picture of this other man's furious face.  Also, we had to keep getting off the train to check on his children a few carriages down.  His girl wanted a glass of water but he didn't get it for her, rather he communicated to her that she should come to him for it, and I understood that this was a lesson not so much for his daughter but more for me in how to send thoughts; he communicated with me afterwards to check that I had understood this.

A bit later I was in some sort of field with a short girl (maybe around 4foot).  We both wanted to try some aspect of the games we hadn't been able to complete, which we did.  She reminded me of the cartoon witch Wizadora for some reason.  After I did a golf shot (I don't even like golf!) she wanted to do something with some sort of (magic?) boots, and went spinning off (like turning in circles on the spot with arms outstretched, the way children do) to the right, then to the left, then she communicated to me with pictures how she had found a portal which she could use to contact her higher self.  She showed me 3 semi-transparent building blocks (like kids use), about knee height, set up as steps, and how she jumped up onto these and then through the portal.

I think it was a lesson in how to communicate without words... A lesson for the Astral planes when I get there?  A little weird, but interesting...
