I cannot remember ever eating in a dream; but I did (try to) drink a few times, but each time I would spill all of it...  like if I had no mouth or if it was closed...
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

I once ate a bit of camembert in a lucid dream, didn't have any taste ... but I didn't expect any taste, so maybe that was the problem.

I remember eating stuff (don't remember what) in normal dreams, and that the taste was similiar to RL.

The other question is: was this just lucid dreaming or was it astral (due to the "more real" aspect of it)?

Depends on your point of view. The "more real than RL"-aspect can occur in a lucid dream as well.
I don't do much, and I do it well.

i ate some icecream once in a lucid dream, it was deliscious, the taste was felt through my whole body
If you will it it is no dream.

Michael_E, that's exactly what I meant! It's as if you never had a sense of taste before; things that normally taste very good to you in real life taste like ricepaper by comparison.

My point was, it didn't become a lucid dream until I tasted these things.  The realization I was dreaming came about purely because I knew things never taste this good in real life.  Before anyone suggests my sense of taste is affected by being a smoker (which I won't deny, filthy habit!), I have to tell you even the cigarette tasted really good!

It's a shame I wasted the opportunity to OBE/AP from here, but I was so amazed it didn't seem to matter.

It could be a personal signal to me for the future though, which would enable me to OBE at this point.

Well I had people giving me water to drink on the astral. I think that they thought it would help me have something to focus on and improve my coherence.

Several times now I have become aware I was dreaming as I was eating or drinking. What woke me up was the realization that the food was so much more "real" than in the physical, it tasted so much better and I could really taste the flavours.  I didn't AP from there because I was too engrossed in the tastes & left it too late.
A couple of nights ago I even had a couple of drags on an astral cigarette, and there was me thinking I didn't smoke in my dreams!

Has anyone else had this?  The other question is: was this just lucid dreaming or was it astral (due to the "more real" aspect of it)?
