I don't know what you were reading but... one reason could be... fasting has the potential (if done properly - you need to be careful all through the fast - on the entrance to, while on and coming off - for all sorts of reasons too many to mention here) to cleanse the physical body & cause healing and when the physical body has more energy and life force flowing through it... well it could assist us in AP'ing though promoting a clearer mind, increasing concentration abilities, retention of information & projections and increasing the energetic resources flowing through us & our energy body .... this and more COULD help us in AP'ing...

could be something along these lines.... :wink:

Doing an energy body bounce, and taking it out of body.
Expanding your energy body to fill a room (like a balloon) timed with breathing is another.
Those are the two I use when I use this technique.

As to fasting, I think it's a placebo-ritual type of thing.  If you think it's helpful, it's helpful.

I also imagine & feel myself/consciousness becoming as small as i can imagine then alternating this with being as big as i can imagine

although most useful for me in getting toward vibrational stage seems the energy bounce fom head to toe & then eventually taking this beyond the body (as CFtraveler mentioned)

Seems like people who are having unusual sleep patterns have more OBEs.  This can happen when sick or traveling.  It may be that fasting also contributed to more alertness and different sleep patterns while asleep.  Ever notice it's hard to relax when your stomach is hungry?  I think it's natural for mammals to be alert for food opportunities when hungry so there may be a biological result from fasting.  Also as another has mentioned there is often results from anything that you think might work and that keeps your mind more focused and reminded of your desire to have OBEs.  So there is that placebo effect.  I personally have had many on OBE right after a late dinner of a very big steak and I have not noticed any obvious advantage to a lighter or meal for OBEs so have not pursued this method personally.  I think personally there is much if not almost everything still to learn about this phenomenon of OBEs. After all, it has to do with the nature of life, time, existence, reality, etc, all of which we still do not have much of a grasp on.
