hi, i just registered here and have a couple things to say. A couple years ago i was really into astral projection and was trying for months, only had one experience and it was a short one. Now today i was taking a nap and woke up to find myself not being able to move my body at all only my eyes, then out of nowhere i remembered reading that when this happens its very easy to project so i closed my eyes and after about 10 seconds i start hearing people arguing. As the seconds passed i could hear more and more people arguing and then felt that my body was floating in mid air. I then said to myself "this is it" i'm almost out, so i started to think about opening my eyes and slowly they opened and i found myself in the same room where i was sleeping. I then look in front of me and i see a bunch of painting supplies, brushes, cans of paint, you name it it was there. But for some reason i was Very scared and was getting closer and closer to where the supplies were. At one point i said to myself STOP! and i stopped moving but ended up waking up because of how scared i was, do you guys think that was a projection i had? or lucid dreaming?

sounds to me that you had control... and sounds like a good exit! I would Say AP... do you paint? and why would paint scare you? HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA i would be like cool paint!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaahaha! people there that you dont expect could cause fear... just ask... BUT PAINT AND BRUSHES! fear is the killer! thanks for sharing, not giving you a hard time, just trying to understand the fear factor... could have been a future thingy... either your going to paint... or someone else will there!... or past? who knows

lol, maybe i wasn't clear, if it was just brushes and paint i would have said the same thing but it wasn't, i don't know what it was but i felt very uncomfortable and felt like someone else was there that didn't want me there....hard to explain but the reason why i got scared wasn't because of the brushes and paint lol....

From the description of people arguing, it sounds like you experienced hypnagogia. Hypnagogia is a state where you can hear and see all sorts of random sounds and images. Progress farther, and you'll begin either seeing full scenes and possibly find yourself in a scene, or you might find yourself in a space with nothing in it (3D Blackness). In this case, you "went" to your room. If you find yourself in a scene that looks like a physical place you are familiar with, you might find some things that are either out of place, don't exist in the physical, or it is exactly the same as the physical.

During these experiences, it is very important to keep your thoughts under control. In the non-physical, thoughts can influence the environment if you aren't careful. For instance, if you find yourself in a strange place, and you see a big shadow in front of you, if you aren't controlling your thoughts, you might think that something huge is behind you and you might feel a rush of fear. And so something huge will be behind you, giving you more of a reason to be afraid, and it will continue from there.

Quotedo you guys think that was a projection i had? or lucid dreaming?

I wouldn't call it either one; instead, I would simply call it an experience. Since it was an experience, treat it exactly as that. Think about it and look at what you might be able to learn from it.

Sometimes astral environments have an uncomfortable vibe without reason. Try to press on with a calm mind in these situations.

By reading the description of you being aware during entry into the non-physical you had a projection. But as mentioned above, it doesn't matter. A non-physical experience is a non-physical experience and the degree of awareness involved is what dictates a dream or projection.

Hi and welcome :) I am new here myself. Your story is very interesting. I have woken up paralyzed like that a couple of times but I freaked out both times.  Kudos for not freaking out!

Don't get me wrong I was scared s*tless....that happens to me like every other week....i remember once I woke up paralyzed and I saw a man right over me looking down at me laughing and waving some kind of stick....and the more I tried to move the more he would wave the stick and laugh harder.....i was freaked out when I was finally able to move.....

And thanks for all of you who had an input.....

I used to get scared at the beginning of my projections too. I find the paint very random. I would try projection again if I were you. If you see paint again, there has to be a meaning. If you paint in real life, this can help you. I'm a musician and I once found a guitar in the astral. I instantly played a beautiful song that I was able to remember when I woke up.
