No, not offensive, maybe just a little narrowly defined- the only named entities are those that fit into Abrahamic traditions. When people see non-corporeal beings, they usually tend to relate them to whatever religion or worldview they ascribe to, so the language they use to describe what they perceive sort of depends on the person and their cultural context.

I am sort of like a lot of others here... the beings I have interacted with are often creations of my own mind, but those that don't seem to be I have difficulty labeling. They are other minds... that is the best I think I can do. Some of them are very warm and inviting, and others are a bit more netural... perhaps because I don't have what it takes to meaningfully interact with them in whatever method they are acclimated to; I guess I would compare it to meeting the attendant at a hotel desk when you yourself are a butterfly; the worker is good-natured and helpful, but not much she can say to a butterfly, lol.

Well since thats my tradition I'll answer you yes I've been both angels and one of the archangels. My initial encounter with the Archangel I was so terrified I was crying and vomiting.  I've never been so wrong about any being in my life as I was with him. My fear caused a thoughtform overlay which took many hours of self torture before I could break it.  The wisdom gained by this was that I learned that what I had learned in my childhood about angels demons and God was totally mistaken. God does not hurt us and neither would he send an angel to do so. They're the perfect loving beings.  I wasn't out of my body when this happened. I went through an initiation which required their presence.

If your a Christian you do not have to leave your faith to be enlightened but you do need to understand that literal interpretation of the scripture which is very popular right now,  is neither accurate nor helpful in learning about the truth.
