Title: Failure in projecting
Post by: Kiki112 on November 25, 2014, 12:42:07
Hi guys, I followed the forum for a while searching for info, but I'm still not succeeding in projecting

So I registered and I'm asking for advice now

The first time in my life I experienced sleep paralysis, I didn't know what it was, I was scared senseless but before I noticed I can't move I started raising my arm (and I felt it moving only to discover my physical arm was still in place), I started googling and stuff, so I found about AP, I'v been trying to project ever since but never completely leave my body!

First time I tried to initiate a projection I felt the vibrations, I felt numb, an unexplaniable sensation in my head, heavy breathing and rapid heart beat
Since I have arrhythmia the rapid heart beat putten me down as fast as I was close to projecting

Later on I got my heart more steady but still no success
Yesterday I felt my eye itches, I'v seen light dance across my eyes in darkness and my hands went totaly numb, my feet only a little, started feeling the vibration
But when I reached for the rope I moved my physical arms not my astral

What am I doing wrong?

I though I should grab the rope right after the vibrations

Also I dreamt of astral later that day, I dreamt that I went to check if there was breakfast downstairs, seen there was none but when I woke up there were eggs cooked  :-D

Hello Kiki112 and welcome to the Pulse!

Many of the feelings you are getting are early signs that you are getting closer to an exit. Your trance probably needs to move deeper and honestly, if you are just recently learning of AP, then you are going to spend some time repeatedly experiencing these feelings until you become more comfortable with them and begin to understand what is happening.

Along with that, you need to do a lot of studying on various aspects of the art; fortunately, a lot of that study material can be found in the permanent blue stickies at the top of the first several boards: topics dealing with Sleep Paralysis, problems getting out, methods, Xanth's e-book, Szaxx's Astral Blueprint, etcetera...those would be a good start.

This material will answer many of your questions and will generate other questions. Feel free to ask.

Enjoy!

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
Lots to read as suggested, find something that clicks with your experiences so far. It should help knowing the sensations are quite normal.
The initial fears pass and more progress can be made.

I can control the fear (more or less), but it seems to me once I remove the fear I become more earthly, or trapped in my body without the ability to leave

however I felt most close to exiting when my fear was on top level

The fear itself makes you normalize, that's centre the concious you into a safe zone. This is putting you back in the physical form so any decisions you make are based upon a full awareness in your body. Look at nightmares, you automatically wake when things get really bad, it'san inherent survival instinct.
If you can let go of this wanting to be safe, the process will further itself. As the understanding grows that you are safe in the transitional state the automatic response slows or stops. You then have   full control and are wide open to learning these new sensations.
Once you reach these milestones, the fear has gone as the safety is learned and stored in your subconcious.
At times to exit you have to totally drop the fear and continue even though the very strong thought of being dead  is playing away on your mind. Accept it as a test of your resolve.
Without the hard work, the job can't be finished.
You are already doing this quite well.
When the fear is great, drop the thought  of having a body to worry about and continue  onwards.
Thr success will speak volumes.
