Vision From My Higher Self

I had a really beautiful experience earlier this afternoon when I was meditating. After about 45 minutes, I felt myself reaching the threshold where my consciousness usually drops off. However, I maintained my awareness and then there was complete silence in my mind. I started losing awareness and voices came into me. Then, clear in my mind I saw a plant growing from seed to maturity. I realized that the voice was my own voice, yet a higher aspect of myself. My higher self chuckled with delight, as it was pleased that I have been following the path that I have been leading myself to. It was ironic, kind of like a parent smiling in encouragement when a child learns to walk. Then, the vision continued. From the leaves of that plant, I saw a seed floating out. My higher self told me that the seed represented me now. I understood that the mature plant represented the growing that I have already accomplished in this life. Now I am coming into a new awareness of my life as a seed again.

From this new insight, I have found much peace.

That's awesome.
It's encouraging to hear about uplifting experiences like that.

Hello Groovygoddes, that is really a wonderfull experience, It also confirms some inportant things, that a higher self is watching your development and experience joy in that.
Perhaps the real goal is to merge with that higher self.

Thanks really inspiring.

Hi GroovyGoddess

That's a wonderful experience - thank you for sharing it with us.

It has encouraged me to meditate on a more regular basis.  :meditate:

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

GG,

Quote"Myth is the secret opening through which the inexhaustible energies of the cosmos pour into human cultural manifestation" - Joseph Campbell

That is a great quote, and totally true IMO! If we can discover the realities in our myths, then our greatest potential will be realized. However, it is a long, hard road -- at least for me.

Also, I agree with Stookie and Selski. It sounds like you had a really neat experience!

everyone seems to have these wonderful "visions" all the time...how come the only time I've ever actually seen anything like this was when i was about to fall asleep while i was watching pinky and the brain, i saw this weird armchair. an armchair. clearly i have a destiny beyond that which any of you  can ever comprehend.

What a beautiful experience!  Thanks for sharing!  I love the plant/seed imagery.  And the voice--how awesome.    I get some pretty strong images sometimes, but never get the voice to comment on them.  Maybe I just need to learn to hear/listen to it.

Adam, you're going to take over the world!  Or at least try to, hehe!

GreatOutdoors, one thing that helps me "tap into mythology" is Tarot.  Basically the cards represent the universal mythical symbols.  They always tell a story and/or present a nugget of truth that anyone can recognize and identify with.  You just need to get a deck that "speaks" to you.
