So I have been reading through these forums for a while, just trying to increase my knowledge and figure out what works for me. And ive been trying  to AP for a while now just laying on my back and staying calm almost every night before i go to bed. So yesterday i decided to take a nap, because i remembered reading somewhere that sometimes its easier to do it during the day. So i did what i usually do when i go to bed, except this time i put the blanket over my head so i could have some darkness. I didnt move and was slightly angled on my back and just counted my breaths. Eventually after a while im not sure how long the familiar vibrating kicked in, except this time i was not scared but anxious so i pressured the vibrating trying to increase it. Then i found it really easy to pull out of my body not as hard as I've read. There was just a little resistance but nothing real hard. Just as simple as sitting up when you first wake up. After i got out i stood up in my room and tried walking to the door, i felt like walking was like how it is seen on the moon very light and floaty. But i couldn't get to my door without my vision going black and i would end back in the vibrating state. So i repeatedly got out of my body in one sitting, and keep in mind this is my first time. And sometimes when i would get out i would start floating up unable to control it. I'm not sure if its my lack of control or maybe it was my guide trying to take my somewhere. Because it happened 2 times, first time i stopped when i hit the ceiling then went back to my body. Second i kept going and didn't hit anything, and I didn't like that idea so i forced myself back to my body. Also after maybe 5 times of getting out and trying to make it out of my room i made it to the bathroom and then  blacked out, it was the farthest i could get. Another thing to mention, I'm not sure if it was the blanket over my head but it seemed part of my vision was blocked, almost like i was wearing a hoody and it was over my head. So few questions. Why was i able to astral project repeatedly so many times in a sitting i just kept returning to the vibrating state and would get out again, and i only stopped when i decided i was done. Usually when i read about this, people get out once then they wake up. Also About the floating up when i would get out of my body could that be someone pulling me up or just my lack of control? Im thinking of trying to give in and keep floating up next time. Just curious about yall's thoughts on all of this. Thanks and im happy to finally be apart of the community.

Hi and welcome to the Pulse.
What you are experiencing is normal. You tend to flit around almost uncontrollably initially. This will improve with more experiences.
Try to get a good distance from the sleeping body, most of these side effects dissapear.

So With time i assume I will be able to go much farther without the difficulties of beng sent back to my body, correct?

CFTraveler

Maybe and maybe not.  Experience usually corrects most glitches.  Keep doing it.
Why?

As CFT said, any thoughts you have can manifest and knowing you are in bed will create a thought of your body. This can manifest by your unwanted returning.
Try to ignore the body and concentrate on going somewhere more distant, perhaps the back garden. Doors and walls are easily passed through if you want to do this. Any thoughts of them being an impervious obstacle can manifest into them being solid.

Thanks for all of the detailed answers, now im curious. I figured now that i have done it once, that i should be able to do it much easier. But im finding it hard to AP again. When i did it my first time is was mid day after lunch. And I've read it helps alot do wake up at like 3 hours after you have fallen asleep, and stay up for 30ish minutes while your still kinda sleepy, then lay back down and try to ap. Is that method the most successful one usually?

As a guide should be clearly marked on what's most successful.
The given figures are not means tested but DO represent a commonality.
First thing in the morning,   80%
During the night,        50%
At bedtime,   10%
During the day,   up to 100%
These are based on my early days from memory.
It's not the same at present by far. That's to be expected after half a century
