3 back-to-back sequential OBEs that were unwanted within the hour?

Hello.  Let me introduce myself a bit before I begin.

I'm a musician who works on ambient/meditation music that wishes to use it to aid in astral travel and whatever else the listener would like to use to get relaxed.  I plan on giving out some tracks I've composed in another forum section.  Some strange experiences led me to this kind of hobby of writing relaxing and dreaming music.

I hate intros so I wanted to keep this short.

So here's the experience.  back in 2008, I supposedly made involuntary pre-OBE exits.  3 in a row.  At the time, I've never read about an OBE technique or even what one really was.  Currently, I've had a few OBEs involving my room, but I'll talk about that some other time.

before the experience:

So after having a seemingly normal day and not knowing what OBE really was, I go to bed at a slightly earlier time at night (8 pm or so)  I lay down on my bed from side to side (so not typical body length to bed proportion) so my feet are kinda over the edge.  I believe I layed this way because of a bit of body exhaustion; I was simply to tired to care.  So there I lay, just planning on sleeping, maybe continue my night after having some rest.

within about a minute, I start feeling those vibrations (which I now know is an OBE exit symptom).  This was the first time I've ever felt this.  My heart started beating rapidly and I got scared!  Really frightened about what was happening.  Why would this just happen and how come I wasn't told about this feeling growing up?  Something must've been wrong (or so I thought at the time).  heart attack?  I had no idea.

As one might be able to guess, everything was hard to back out of.  Body was under restriction due to the sleep paralysis, which only made me freak out even more.  With enough willpower, I ended the climbing symptoms of the process and woke up very freaked out.  My heart was normal while awake, so I thought maybe I just had a weird nightmare and that it was fine now.  But it wasn't over yet... and I guarantee you, it literally happened this quick.  In a mere 10 seconds of trying to sleep again, it all started once more!  This time, I couldn't really stop it as quick as before.  I ended up entering a dream of some sort, where I was apparently in the yard of where I was helping a family member with tree limbs.  While there, I looked at this scary looking bird on the fence.  I love birds a lot, but this seemed to be extremely frightening for some reason.  They say a fearful mind will attract scary things when you AP.  That's the only conclusion I can gather really.

Now I'm not sure if the tree work was the same day of this experience, but I'm fairly certain it was.  I'll give some details on what happened that tree-working day cause I'm not entirely sure if it was related or not.

So on that day of working the branches (in real life), I took a short break and read something on my phone.  I didn't know my mom was pulling a huge fallen branch off of another branch above me.  The branch fell onto my head and I watched but didn't really react with fear or try to flee.  I remained calm while my mom and aunt freaked out and ran over to me.  I didn't black out, I didn't scream, cry, or feel any sort of excitement.  I simply got up and had to do the usual "I'm fine... no really, I'm fine.".  It wasn't a super heavy... it didn't have a lasting hurt, but it shook me and put me on the ground.  I really didn't have any ill-effects that day after the incident.  The reason I'm listing this info in the first place is because that's where the supposed OBE took me when it occured.

Anyway, back to the supposed OBE exit to that yard with the scary bird... I woke myself up again with all the willpower I could.  Still in fear, I sat a bit with my eyes open pondering what was going on.  After maybe 5 minutes, I close my eyes to sleep again, but again in 10 seconds the process started over.  This time, I didn't let it go any further and woke myself up again immediately, and gave up trying to sleep for the rest of the night!  After a while, i eventually did have a regular sleep when I couldn't stay awake any longer, but what the hell happened?

Looking back on all this... there was no reason for me to be scared... at all!  I was very limited on knowledge about OBEs and that and the fear of the unknown prevented me from having what could of been an amazing experience.

So here I am now, having had 3 sleep-occuring OBEs in the recent 7 days with the "wake and sleep" method, which seems to work every time I try (every time I'm actually devoted to getting up at an odd hour).  I've been trying to have an OBE for a few years now, and only when having one from sleep and feeling this sleep paralysis did I connect the experience to the scary unwanted experience I had those years ago.  So now what?

Now my goal is to find out what happened those years ago and why it was actually occuring even though I resisted so much.  As far as I know, OBEs can be ruined by not having the right state of mind for the exit, getting to excited, or trying to hard.  Now, I want to have OBE easier.  I want to do it instantly like before, but what could have been the cause of those first sequential 3?

I appreciate any feedback I get from this.  I've kept it completely to myself all these years, but I've been itching to share all of this in hopes to help everyone learn something new that they can use.

Hello and Welcome to the Astral Pulse!   :-)

First off, know that you aren't alone in this. Many, if not all of us have been led to this Forum by some kind of spontaneous event that occurred.

What could have caused it, who knows. I believe that when something like this happens to a person for the first time while they are consciously aware that there is a reason behind. That reason has to be found by the one that experienced it though. That's a good question to ask the next time you get there!

I found that my answer to that question (when I had it before in the past) was pretty simple. I was told that "it was time".

But, the great thing is, you actually realize the most important part of this and that's that your fears will lead you astray if you ALLOW them to.

The first reaction anyone has during a spontaneous event is fear. That's perfectly normal though. All our life we have been in full control of our bodies. A spontaneous OBE totally negates that. Fear, excitement and all expectation are things that will squash your current attempts.

Daily meditation is one of the single most important things you can do to make AP easier. This is simply because it shows you how to remain passive while these "signposts" are occurring. Staying passive and ALLOWING the process to occur is very important to your success.

Once there your curiosity and also some "rational" thought will guide along the way. Just remember though, in the NPR (Non Physical Realms/Realities) you will find that thought = action. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders, but do not try to "over think" things. For now, keep a good Journal and just experience it. Don't get caught up in the what is or isn't it yet. Just go experience it for now. There will be plenty of time to go back to your Journals later to decide what is and isn't.

There are some very good guides on how to, to be found in this Forum. You will find them in the form of Stickies. They are the threads in BOLD BLUE LETTERS. Take some time to get acquainted with them.

This is a very good video for understanding more as well. You only really need to watch part 5 or 5 though. Even though the entire Workshop is interesting. The other parts are more of an introduction on the physics of AP in general and some things to do like Healing/Remote Viewing, etc that you can do once you are there.

Thanks so much for the reply!

Yeah I actually just watched that video the other night, but thanks for the thought of it.  I've read around this forum quite a bit already.   I appreciate the feedback.  i vaguely remember seeing your username around the forum and you seem to be very helpful to everyone.  You must be a pro!

Anyway, thanks again.  I'd love to hear what others have to say about my experience.  I'll be posting in another thread in a few moments.  I'm not very good at having OBE, only when doing the sleep-wake-sleep method, but I do have some information to offer from my discoveries.  it might help someone out there, who knows.  I'm very science-oriented and observe little details,  so I plan on contributing all the information I've gained, even if that info hasn't given me full success by myself.

Hi,

I usually don't read others experiences, but your thread's title just made me have to do it. I can say that I relate alot about the experience you had and it looks very similar to mine, except I didnt get that far. (its written in this part of the forum, if you are interested). I didn't get that close to OBE, but I felt the same feeling of "not being in control", not as possession, about my experience. Thank you for sharing, I find it amazing to see how similar our experiences are, in my opinion.

Anyway I just wanted to tell you that, also, you look like in the same kind of mindset as me and I would find it interesting to hear more from you.

Have a nice day or evening,
ArkPhoenix

P.S. if you do go read my thread take my 2nd post as somekind of mini-analysis + hypothesis that I needed to free my mind of.

Alright, thanks for the feedback!  I'll definitely check it out.  I also started another thread in another section where I try to analyze some pre-sleep OBE topics based on my own experience.  I'd love to chat about it, sounds awesome.
