I have followed various topics on this forum for quite a while and have been trying to achieve OBE's on and off for about a year now. Last night i think i had my first one! exciting :) anyhow here below is the diary entry i wrote up.
"4th June 2012"
"Set my alarm for 4:00 AM this morning to practice astral traveling. I had the alarm go off every 15 minutes on snooze mode. During that snooze mode i was practicing reaching and holding the vibrations and the hypnogotic stage. I believe that sometime around 5:45 i, for the first time actually experienced either a dream about obe or actually had one! I remember feeling these vibrations, then they intensified and felt as if they were pulling me up through my head. Soon after that i was on the floor of my bedroom, finding it very hard to coordinate my movements. I remember thinking, why is it so dark? Then, realising what was happening i went back to my bed to see myself . I touched this lump in my bed but my hand went straight through it! That finished my out of body travling :( . Man i feel so excited! Now i just want to do it again to prove to myself that it was real and not just a dream from my creative imagination. "

Hello Raymond and Welcome to the Astral Pulse. Congratulations on your first successful OBE and here's to many more! :-) It's really hard to control any of your first attempts, so be patient. They will be brief, but make sure you log them down in a book. This way you can objectively watch your progress as it grows. :-)

I remember feeling exactly the same way after my first OBE. Lionheart is right about the movements, they are tough at first. After a while you will realize that they are mainly controlled by your will.

From the description that you posted it Does appear that you had that first OBE. Congratulations to you. The presence of vibrations is Usually an accurate sign that an OBE is about to occur. The dim lighting and confusion are also common during first time OBEs. Other give aways were seeing your physical body asleep in bed and putting a hand through the bed. All of these are very common occurrences during an OBE.

Congrats dude. I had experience just like that. I also found my self underneath my bed staring at all the junk I have down there. After I woke up I went and laid in the same position I was in and found everything the exact same way it was. The first few times you have OBEs you'll feel drunk and distorted. That's how mine where. Keep it up though! Pretty soon you'll be having them every night without trying.
